A glamorous night in support of charity, goodwill and the Malaysians who inspire us the most, Tatler Ball 2023 was a resounding success
The dazzle of Christmas lights, the shimmer of ball gowns and the rapid clicking of shutterbugs–these are just some of several details heralding the Christmas season and with it, the annual Tatler Ball–a night of giving, of celebrating and enjoying the finer things in life. Themed ‘Silver Frost Gala’, this year's Tatler Ball saw the grand ballroom of the St Regis Kuala Lumpur transformed into a winter wonderland of silver, gold and sparkle.

The evening started off with live music by the Casa Quartet in the foyer of the grand ballroom at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur. As the first guests started arriving, they were greeted with cocktails, wine, and champagne by Moët & Chandon and Hennessy as well as Bacha drinks, followed by artful canapes by the St Regis Kuala Lumpur. Familiar faces and Tatler Ball newcomers turned up in droves that night to catch up with friends and snap their pictures at the photowall, as well as in front of the immaculate booth setups by Chopard, Oppo, Beauty & Co, Armani Beauty, Bacha Coffee, and more by Tatler Ball partners. Across from the entrance to the grand ballroom was a towering Christmas Tree by Pavilion Collection, as well as a dedicated corner for Tatler's silent auction charity initiative of the night. Throughout the evening, guests were encouraged to bid on any of 11 silent auction items to help raise money for the three inspiring NGOs—ROSE Foundation, Hospis Malaysia and Cancer Research Malaysia.
The Chopard photowall was a hit with stylish guests like Daiyan Trisha, Jasmine Suraya and Scha Alyahya, who proudly wore their high jewellery pieces from the Swiss jeweller and watchmaker's exclusive collections.

Inside the ballroom, a sleek white BMW i7 display unit was situated by the stage. As emcees for the evening Sean Ghazi and Tony Eusoff invited guests to adjourn to the ballroom to prepare for the first course of an exquisite dinner spread by The St Regis Kuala Lumpur team, the evening kicked off with performances by Nikka. After a welcome speech by Tatler Malaysia managing director, Geraldine Beh, the guests were encouraged to contribute via Tatler's GiveAsia crowdfunding platform in support of Cancer Research Malaysia, ROSE Foundation and Hospis Malaysia.

The highlight of the evening came when Tatler presented awards to three truly deserving women: Datuk Yvonne Chia for The Diamond Award, Professor Dr Woo Yin Ling for the Impact Award, and Amanda Nell Eu for the Cultural Icon Award. Chia, surprised by a touching speech given by her daughter Francesca Chia, was invited on stage to receive her custom-made Royal Selangor pewter trophy and gift vouchers from Tatler Ball's official wellness partner, Beauty & Co. Woo and Eu were also gifted with Royal Selangor trophies as well as with an Oppo N3 FOLD smartphone and Valiram vouchers worth RM5,000 respectively.
After the awards ceremony, the party fever reached an all-time high as guests danced the night away to riveting performances by the Tatler Collective by Midnight Avenue, followed by a set by DJ Jeanie Chrystal and DJ J One. Outside in the foyer, Tatler Friends continued to mingle over hot coffee, warm croissants, and coffee martinis from the Bacha Coffee counter. The art collectors in the crowd also found themselves at the dedicated art installation corner designed by Tatler Ball partner, Heritouch Gallery, where a live art showcase by Malaysian contemporary artist Ben Chong also took place.

The St Regis Kuala Lumpur bathrooms were a popular photo spot for the evening, thanks to a lavish sakura-themed bathroom takeover by Rituals and Armani Beauty. Before they left, guests took home four different gift bags with special surprises from Rituals, Armani Beauty, Bacha Coffee, and a complimentary copy of Tatler Malaysia's December issue–complete with vouchers from Beauty & Co and a carefully curated gift guide by The Exchange TRX.
