In preparation for ball season, Tatler friends spend the evening surrounded by a very special curation of Valentino Gowns and Valentino Garavani accessories
Founded in 1960, Maison Valentino has always been known for its boundless creativity and ability to bring its visionary sketches of gowns to life down to the most intricate details with exceptional skill and craftsmanship. In 1962, the maison—founded by Valentino Garavani—debuted its first couture collection at the Pitti Palace in Florence, garnering international acclaim for its elegant designs and becoming a fast favourite among the world’s most stylish and influential women, namely Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis, Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, and Elizabeth Taylor.
Today, Garavani’s successor, Pierpaolo Piccioli, continues his legacy and cultural impact with his innovative designs and ability to craft romantic gowns with strong narratives—dressing a new generation of strong, iconic people, such as Florence Pugh, Yang Zi, SUGA, Yang Yang, and more. Known for his innovative approach in honouring the house's rich archives as well as his deep respect for the artisans and craftsmen in the maison’s atelier, Piccioli’s couture creations and red carpet gowns are ground-breaking works of art that embody the innovative and indomitable spirit of Maison Valentino’s founder and former creative director.
