See every single outfit that the Umbrella singer wore for her legendary Super Bowl halftime 2023 show
Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show was destined to be the pop culture moment of 2023 ever since its announcement. It marks the Umbrella singer’s long-awaited return to the stage after seven years, during which time she launched Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty, became a billionaire, redefined maternity fashion and gave birth to her first child with rapper Asap Rocky. The Grammy award winner promised her fans that her Super Bowl concert would be a celebration of her 17-year music catalogue—and she certainly delivered.
On February 12, Rihanna’s Super Bowl show took place at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona, where she performed some of her biggest songs, including We Found Love, Diamonds and Pour It Up. The setlist was legendary, but so were Rihanna’s outfits.
Opening with B**** Better Have My Money, the singer came onto stage clad entirely in bold red. She wore a custom Loewe catsuit designed by J.W. Anderson, featuring a sculpted leather corset (which echoed a breastplate look from Loewe’s spring/summer 2022 collection) and a flight suit in cotton canvas. The latter was meant to “build volume in step with the dynamic scenography of the show”, according to the brand. But the ensemble also highlighted Rihanna’s baby bump—confirming her second pregnancy with Asap Rocky.

That wasn’t the only custom piece that RiRi had on. In the first half of her Super Bowl show, she layered over her Loewe ensemble with a leather puffer scarf fitted with gloves—especially created for her by designer Pieter Mulier of Maison Alaïa. (She had hinted at the fashion brand during the Super Bowl press conference, where she wore a look from Maison Alaïa’s spring/summer 2023 collection.)
Later on in the show, the singer makes a powerful style statement in an extravagant, floor-length puffer coat, also by Maison Alaïa. Besides making her stand out against her backup dancers dressed in white, Rihanna’s outfit also paid homage to former Vogue editor and fashion icon, André Leon Talley, who frequently wore a red blanket coat by Norma Kamali. And all in perfect time for Black History Month too.

To ensure that she really did shine like a diamond, Rihanna completed her looks with glittering earrings from Messika. She also jazzed up her Loewe catsuit with vintage diamond brooches by Joseph Saidian & Sons as well as a Jacob & Co watch. Surprisingly, the most low-key part of her Super Bowl outfits were her shoes. The Work singer danced with ease clad in her bright red MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon sneakers.
