Our guide to all the new shopping destinations, fashion pop-ups and store openings to check out in Singapore
Shopping is back, in a big way.
The pandemic-afflicted years have shown us the importance of physical spaces, and luxury fashion and jewellery brands have taken it upon themselves to create shiny new brick-and-mortar stores. These boutiques offer an experience that you just can’t get online; VIP services, artistic interiors, and exclusive products are just some of what’s in store (quite literally so).
This year, within our favourite shopping malls like Ion Orchard and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, both familiar and new brands have opened their doors, inviting us to step inside and experience their universe.
Your favourite boutique may reopen with a sleek new look. A flagship store may be set up in Singapore, offering local shoppers the only access to that brand in the region. Let’s not forget that there is always a slew of beautiful and interactive pop-ups to look out for as well. Retail therapy has never been more exciting.
Below, we highlight all the best store openings and pop-up launches in Singapore that check out if you love fashion.

1. The Onitsuka store at Ion Orchard
Where: #01-14A, Ion Orchard
You may know Onitsuka Tiger for its sneakers, but the Japanese fashion brand also nails formal footwear through its The Onitsuka line. Following store openings in Tokyo and New York, The Onitsuka is now available in Singapore for the first time through its new boutique in Ion Orchard. The space, with its leather furnishings and a colour palette of black, white and red, reflect the shoes you’ll find inside. The Onitsuka’s unisex and timeless designs are handcrafted in Japan, with unexpected flourishes like red stripes or jagged, “shark” outsoles. Edgy and elegant. You can also get your hands on sleek and practical bags and accessories to complete your look.

2. Christian Louboutin store at Ion Orchard
Where: #01-17, Ion Orchard
Christian Louboutin’s new boutique at Ion Orchard doesn’t just delight shoppers with the luxury brand’s glamorous red-soled shoes. The store’s vibrant interiors, inspired by the shoe designer’s holiday houses around the south of Europe, will transport you to a Mediterranean summer vacation. The store is marked by arches, patterned wallpaper, wicker furnishings and a plush carpet (in red, of course). The boutique’s offerings are just as rich; Christian Louboutin’s shoes, bags and accessories for both men and women are all stocked. There’s also a beautiful mirrored display of the brand’s classic stiletto heels that will leave you mesmerised.
Tatler Tip: The Ion Orchard store boasts three exclusive shoe styles: the crystal-covered Loubi Vega sandals, the Stage O Rioca sequin boots and the glittering Stage Angels platform boots.
3. Pomellato exhibition at Ngee Ann City

Where: Ngee Ann City atrium
Pomellato is celebrating its heritage with an exhibition at Ngee Ann City that runs until February 19. At the pop-up space, you’ll be introduced to the Milanese jeweller’s four main collections: Nudo, Iconica, Sabbia and Catene. Offering a close-up look of these designs, the exhibition lets you truly appreciate the jewellery-making techniques that have been honed and passed down by the craftsmen and women at Pomellato’s Milan atelier. That includes Pomellato’s prong-free, “invisible” setting used in the Nudo designs, or the high jewellery techniques employed in the Catene collection.
Tatler Tip: Once done with the exhibition, head to the Pomellato boutique (#02-09A) to marvel at the brand’s La Gioia high jewellery creations, specially flown in from Milan, or the new Nudo designs, some of which feature two gemstones ingeniously fused as one.
4. Acne Studios store at Marina Bay Sands
Where: #B2-81/82/83, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
Acne Studios, the go-to fashion label for edgy and cool clothing, has finally opened its first store in Singapore—and Southeast Asia, for that matter. The flagship is located at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, facing the luxury mall’s glimmering canal. The store, envisioned by Swedish design studio Halleröd, is hard to miss as it resembles a giant glass box. The space features what Halleröd calls a “minimalist tech aesthetic”, which allows Acne Studios’ spring/summer 2023 collection and Musubi bags to truly stand out. To complement the collection, the store is also furnished by unique seating covered in hand-dyed batik fabrics—the works of furniture designer Max Lamb.
5. Gentle Monster store at Ion Orchard
Where: #01-13, Ion Orchard
Gentle Monster’s Ion Orchard store welcomed 2023 with a refreshed look, following the theme of “Awaken”. The futuristic space is now peppered with bizarre art installations, including a blinking eyeball. Even still, none of them take away from the striking sunglasses in the store, including those from Gentle Monster’s new Gentle Line collection.
