The new fashion collection strives to put the spotlight on human endeavour—with forward-thinking designs that showcase the best of both houses
An exciting co-creation between Moncler and Adidas just launched and already it is grabbing fashion headlines everywhere. The Art of Explorers is a fashion campaign that focuses its attention on the brands’ shared characteristics—longstanding performance and an enduring legacy that spreads influence and innovation across cities.
The collection was first unveiled at London Fashion Week in February, with artists from a diversity of mediums encompassing sculpture to set design creating human-esque explorers in the form of avatars and NFTs. These impressions were hosted on an immersive platform on moncler.com, a unique destination where exclusive products can be discovered and purchased via digital billboards. For example, a limited-edition artistic version of the Moncler x Adidas Originals NMD boot that ties the partnership together can be accessed exclusively through the platform.

Onto the collection—which marries soft puffer shapes and crisp triple stripes in its aesthetics. Inspired by an imaginative trek from a mountain summit to the city, the Moncler x Adidas collection presents an intersection of their respective identities in the form of long and short puffers, track jackets, vests and accessories. Signature Moncler silhouettes in their iconic lacquered nylon textures are refreshed with Adidas Originals details like the distinctive triple-break panelling running down the sides.

To reflect the city roots of the sportswear brand—shades of greens, oranges and reds reminiscent of traffic lights contrast against concrete grey and off-white bases, evoking a strong urban feel. Textured quilts and jacquard prints also feature in the collection, taking inspiration from the patterns skiers carve on snow-covered slopes to represent Moncler’s winter origins. To ground the opposing looks, the prominent NMD has been Moncler-ised with the brand’s highly recognisable bubbled padding—the perfect union of form and function, uniting outdoor mountain life and the streets of the city.
The Moncler x Adidas Originals collection will be available online from October 4 and in select Moncler and Adidas stores from October 5.
