Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer presented a new collection of exquisite Spanish-inspired creations
Notable Filipino couturier Michael Cinco recently unveiled a new collection, The Impalpable Dream of España, last November 27 in a fashion charity gala held at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City and inspired by Spain's rich history, art and architecture. The collection brimmed with Cinco's trademark romanticism—a spectacular presentation befitting the designer's aptitude for pomp and circumstance.
Before the fashion show, the Philippine Legacy Gala 2023 honoured Cinco with the Legacy Award of Excellence in Global Fashion among other luminaries such as singer Sharon Cuneta, who was bestowed the Legacy Award of Excellence in Music, and entrepreneur Myrna Tang-Yao, who took home the Legacy Award of Excellence in Women Empowerment.

The internationally acclaimed designer, whose impressive clientele boasts the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey, is renowned for his affinity towards the maximalist aesthetic. The collection stays true to this inclination while giving way to the core of Spanish allure. Gowns and other attire swathed in vibrant colours varied textures, complete with meticulous embroidery, dominate the runway, exuding elegance and sensuality.
The collection flaunted 50 haute couture looks, from red carpet-worthy ball gowns to floor-length capes. The theatrically extravagant production of the fashion show was also worth noting, as models sauntered down the runway to live opera performances of Georges Bizet's 'Habanera' from Carmen and the 'Queen of the Night' aria from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute.
