The star-studded charity event returned this year at The Peninsula Manila with a fashion show spotlighting the work of designer Ivarluski Aseron
The Red Charity Gala (RCG), one of the most highly-anticipated fashion events in the country, returned last October 8. Distinguished personalities and other individuals from business and political circles gathered at The Peninsula Manila to celebrate fashion and the impact of philanthropy.
At the forefront of this grand affair was the spirit of championing the good and providing relief to several charitable causes. This year, RCG partnered with the Philippine Red Cross and Hope for Lupus Foundation to advocate treatment for the disease and provide relief to those most in need.

The program’s highlight of the night featured a fashion show commemorating the career of Ivarluski Aseron. The renowned Filipino couturier, whose clientele boasts the likes of prominent figureheads, including First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, showcased a striking collection that integrates his past techniques with new stylistic developments he has developed over the years.
This collection centres around the theme of memory in motion, reflecting Aseron’s artistic approach to storytelling, self-expression, experiences and moments of joy during his career as a fashion designer.
Many other collections of notable designers, such as Rajo Laurel, Joey Samson and Michael Cinco, have also been featured in past iterations.

During the night’s auction, the RCG raised PHP 7.5 million, promised to various non-government foundations, including the Philippine Red Cross and Assumption High School Batch 1981 Foundation.
Over the pandemic, both foundations succeeded in extending support to frontliners. Resources were allocated to isolation facilities, vaccination sites and RT-PCR saliva collection sites in Makati.
Proceeds over the years have built two children’s libraries in Eastern Samar and provided two-year senior high school scholarships to 20 students in Passi, Iloilo.
