Fashion has embedded itself in our culture, and what better way to celebrate such a feat than a collaboration with the diplomatic corps
At the recent Vin d’Honneur at Malacañan Palace last Independence Day, the talent and skills of several top Filipino designers were acknowledged for their contribution to Philippine fashion and culture.
The festivities began with introducing the diplomatic corps and some international organisations. President Ferdinand Marcos Jnr opened the programme with a speech on the country’s 125th independence, emphasising that “the Philippines is a friend to all and enemy to none.”

For this year’s event, selected fashion designers were asked to create elegant gowns for the current female ambassadors in the country. The initiative aims to showcase the designers’ unique talents and highlight our rich cultural heritage.
All the gowns presented incorporated iconic shapes in Philippine fashion, as well as locally sourced materials made from piña, silk, and more.
