The highly anticipated debut from the Maison’s new creative director will be available in Singapore from January 4

The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2024 men’s collection is Pharrell Williams’s first proposal for the French luxury house since his appointment as creative director of menswear early last year. Following a dramatic unveiling on the iconic Pont Neuf bridge during Paris Fashion Week—countless celebrities lined the front row, before the runway show closed with a concert by Williams and fellow musician Jay-Z—the latest collection finally launches in stores on January 4.

For his debut collection with Louis Vuitton, Williams drew inspiration from the sun as a universal source of life: a radiance that energises, heals and unifies humans across cultures and creeds. The influence of the sun presents itself throughout the collection in rays of graphics, a warm colour palate, and glistening embellishments that gild garments and accessories.

A camouflage spin on the heritage Damier pattern of Louis Vuitton is manifested in three hues across workwear, denim, knitwear and furs. The stylistic tribute to Williams’ long-time friends is dubbed Damoflage, which infuses the maison’s signature print with the personal style lexicon of the designer.

For a contemporary approach to suiting, the updated Dandy sees loosely autobiographical tailored silhouettes that blend sharply cut suits and flared sculpting of trousers. Modern proportions explore the principles of men’s sartorialism—think collarless expressions and oversized, boxy cuts. Here, pearls and crystals make an appearance, evocative of the traditional Parisian women’s wardrobe.

As part of the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the iconic Louis Vuitton Speedy bag sees its most high-end adaptation. Williams’ interpretation conjures the attitude and hustle mentality of Canal Street in Lower Manhattan, New York City.

Honouring the trapezoid lines of the classic Speedy, and appearing in supple-grained calf leather lined in the finest lambskin, the latest iteration is imbued with real-life sensibilities: softened construction enables the bottom of the bag to collapse and drape the way it would through everyday wear and gestures. The silkscreen-printed monogram induces a blurry, artisanal and almost hand-painted effect, rendered in several colours across nine dimensions.
