1. Chappell Roan

With her masterful vocals and striking on-stage presence, Chappell Roan has solidified her place as one of music’s most groundbreaking artists. This year, she made waves with standout performances at Coachella and notable TV appearances. Her theatrical drag queen-inspired look might look a little difficult to do justice, but with a red wig, bold makeup and a touch of glitter and you’ll capture her signature style effortlessly.

2. Olivia Rodrigo (or, “Miss So Filipina”)

During the Manila leg of her tour, Olivia Rodrigo expressed pride in her Filipino roots while performing for a sold-out crowd at the Philippine Arena earlier this month. To channel “Miss So Filipina” herself this Halloween, go with a sparkly black outfit paired with a simple white sash.

3. Saltburn

2024 opened with Saltburn, which became a massive hit for its edge-of-your-seat storyline and stellar cast. There were a number of costume-worthy looks in this movie, but Jacob Elordi’s angel-inspired outfit from the film’s ending was the best. On the other hand, Barry Keoghan’s stag costume is easy to pull off as well.

4. Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter is another pop icon who made waves this year with her effortlessly cool, vintage-inspired style. For a simple yet recognisable Halloween costume, recreate her laid-back Coachella outfit with an oversized ‘Jesus was a Carpenter’ graphic T-shirt, shorts, and finish the look with tousled hair and winged eyeliner.

5. Charli XCX

Charli XCX has proven that 2024 is truly the year of powerful women in pop. To channel her edgy style, think ‘brat green’ with bold patterns and chunky accessories. Wear your hair long and wavy and add some ripped tights for extra flair. For bonus points, team up with a friend dressed as Troye Sivan, Lorde or Addison Rae.

6. Challengers

Bring some sporty flair to your Halloween costume by rocking some tennis outfits inspired by Challengers. Grab a classic tennis skirt or shorts, pair them with a polo or tank top and finish the look with a visor and wristbands. For an added touch, take a tennis racket or ball to complete the vibe.

7. The Substance

The Substance was one of the best scary movies to start off October. Embody Elisabeth Sparkle (pre-transformation, of course) with an Eighties-inspired aerobics set. Think bright leotards, high-waisted leggings and leg warmers for an authentic look.

8. The Joker and Harley Quinn

This Halloween, have you and your partner make a statement as the iconic duo from Joker: Folie à Deux. For the Joker, go for a sharp suit in bold colours—with his signature makeup look featuring white face paint, and exaggerated red lips. For his female counterpart, Harley Quinn, opt for a red blazer over a black-and-white top.

9. Emily in Paris

Emily in Paris released its fourth season this year with more drama, more romance, and of course, more berets. Channel our favourite American in Paris with a mini dress or stylish blouse paired with a mini skirt. Accessorise with statement jewellery, a chic handbag, and a beret for that Parisian flair.
