Harry Styles can now add “fashion designer” to his resume, courtesy of his new collaboration with Gucci.

The As It Was singer has drawn on his “incredible sense of fashion”, as Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele describes, to create a menswear collection dubbed “Ha Ha Ha”. The name combines the first initials of both Michele and Styles, but also nods to the laughing face emoji that have peppered the text conversations between the two friends for years.

Indeed, the two go way back: having just debuted at the helm of Gucci, Michele met Styles shortly after the latter had released his self-titled solo album. In the years to come, the duo would redefine the look of a rockstar with their creative collaboration, with Styles being dressed for concerts and red carpets in Gucci sequins, suits and even more radically, dresses.

The idea behind Ha Ha Ha was to create a “dream wardrobe” that married the two friends’ eclectic and glamorous tastes. The result: flamboyant, ‘70s-inspired tailoring, combined with classic English fabrics like checks, plaid and pinstripes or adorned with playful patterns of squirrel, sheep and cherry motifs (Styles’ fans would no doubt have fun unpacking those).

The 25-look collection was presented at a vintage clothing store in Milan during Men’s Fashion Week. The setting reflected both Styles’ and Michele’s love for vintage shopping, as can no doubt be gleaned from their collaboration. You can expect the full collection to drop in Gucci stores in October. For now, have your first look at Ha Ha Ha below.
