Based on the novel of the same name by American author Jeffrey Eugenides, the film captures the fragility of adolescence and the weight of grief that defies resolution. At its heart are the five Lisbon sisters—enigmatic, beautiful, and held tightly within the confines of a strict Catholic household. Told through the eyes of a group of neighbourhood boys, the story evokes nostalgia and lingering sorrow, as they grapple with a tragic mystery they will never truly comprehend.
