Brunello Cucinelli’s personal tailor, Antonio Ciampi, visits to showcase the luxurious Made-to-Measure Sartoria Solomeo programme

On the evening of 14th September, Marina Bay Sands' quietly elegant Brunello Cucinelli boutique buzzed with sophistication. Amid the clinking of whisky glasses, attendees eagerly anticipated a fireside chat exploring classic men's tailoring and the essence of Brunello Cucinelli’s unmatched blend of comfort, quality, and elegance.

Dynamic actor Bobby Tonelli hosted the evening, with the spotlight on three key figures: Tatler Singapore's Editor-In-Chief, Aun Koh; Brunello Cucinelli's Master Tailor, Antonio Ciampi, who holds the distinct honor of being Mr. Cucinelli’s personal tailor; and Edoardo Simone, Brunello Cucinelli’s Export Manager. Together with a select audience of Singapore's sartorial elite, they discussed the art of Sartoria Solomeo—Brunello Cucinelli's Made-to-Measure program—which was launched in 2018.

This event was particularly significant for the brand. Not only did it mark Master Tailor Ciampi's inaugural visit to Singapore, but it also celebrated the Made-to-Measure service's debut in the Lion City.

The evening progressed with Mr. Ciampi highlighting the intricacies of the Made-to-Measure service. He emphasized the care, precision, and artistry needed to craft truly personalized pieces. Additionally, he clarified the distinction between traditional bespoke tailors and the offerings of Sartoria Solomeo. Brunello Cucinelli’s Made-to-Measure program takes existing house designs, tailoring them for a flawless fit and allowing clients to infuse personal stylistic touches. However, Mr. Ciampi stressed that the program's core aim is to maintain the house's distinct style and fit, which centers on comfort and exquisite natural textiles.

Relating his personal experience, Mr. Koh described his recent Sartoria Solomeo session. “As someone shorter in stature, off-the-rack suits rarely fit me well,” revealed Tatler’s editor. “Collaborating with Maestro Ciampi to craft a suit tailored just for me has been phenomenal. Brunello Cucinelli epitomizes the blend of comfort and elegance I seek in attire, and I'm eager to don my new suit.”

The evening then pivoted to an informative session, with Mr. Ciampi and Mr. Simone tracing the brand's rich history. From its origins as a cashmere manufacturer, Brunello Cucinelli has undergone a captivating transformation, remaining rooted in tradition while embracing forward-thinking designs.

Among the notable attendees were some of Singapore's fashion luminaries: Andrew Ing, COO of OUE Restaurant group; Roy Teo, founder of The Mill Group; Yung Ong, Managing Director of Proof Living Group; and fashion influencers Howard Wu and Ryan Ong. Their presence underlined the event's significance in Singapore's style realm.

As the fireside chat concluded and glasses were raised in toast, Mr. Tonelli announced that Maestro Ciampi and his colleague, Roberto Ranfa, would remain in Singapore for a few more days. This extended stay provides a chance for attendees and their peers to commission their own Made-to-Measure suits. The atmosphere was festive and heartfelt, as Singapore’s fashion aficionados forged new bonds and deepened their understanding of one of Italy's most refined fashion houses.
