XOXO, Gossip Girl. See the Thai heiress’ preppy chic outfits on the Netflix show, seemingly right out of the hit HBO show
Richard Chang was right to call his Bling Empire: New York co-star, Nam Laks, the “Blair Waldorf of Thailand”. Like the beloved Gossip Girl character, Laks is clearly afflicted with the princess syndrome. On the Netflix series, the self-proclaimed “daddy’s girl” goes on designer shopping sprees with her father’s credit card, whines at the prospect of doing any real work, and casually refers to a private jet as “PJ”.
Yes, Laks is spoiled—she’s the youngest child of Thai businessman Nakorn Laksanakarn—but she’s also stylish in the way that Waldorf was. Both share a penchant for feminine, preppy chic outfits, which they flaunt at their Ivy League school, Columbia University. In the same way that Waldorf relied on her housekeeper Dorota, Laks has a stylist to help her plan her outfits. We’re not talking just any stylist, but one of the best in the business: Kim Bui Kollar, the founder of Banck Creative and the former style director of 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Below, we dive into how Laks, with the help of Kollar, dressed the part of the Upper East Side princess on Bling Empire: New York, spotlighting her best outfits.

Pretty tweeds
True to the Gossip Girl character that she’s compared to, Nam Laks makes quite the impression the moment we first see her on Bling Empire: New York. With a dramatic hair flip, the Thai heiress struts in fashionably late for brunch with Richard Chang and his partner Vika. She’s dressed in a red tweed dress from Self Portrait, Proenza Schouler thigh-high leather boots, and a black fur coat. Tweed wasn’t the only Blair Waldorf style staple that Laks had on; she also wore a sparkling, crystal-studded headband, which she admits she had to settle for because a tiara was too much for school.
