The Singapore-born designer’s daring style was put front and centre on ‘Bling Empire: New York’—see her boldest looks

Tina Leung may be the resident fashion girl of Bling Empire: New York, but nobody seems to have as much fun with dressing up as her co-star Lynn Ban.

The Singapore-born jewellery designer has plenty of style tricks up her sequinned sleeve. Throughout the Netflix show, Ban dominates the city in loud, colourful jackets, or else she steals the spotlight with her crystal-studded ensembles. In fact, the former Tatler Singapore cover star proves to be quite the style chameleon, easily going from one bold look to another. Her rings and earrings, loved by the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga, also offer the perfect finishing touch—not that Ban needed much else to stand out.

From flaunting vintage Chanel to wearing a dress covered in spikes, we spotlight Ban’s coolest style moments on Bling Empire: New York below.

Casual in Chanel

Ban isn’t afraid of standing out on the streets of New York. For a brunch date at Lady M with Dorothy Wang and Blake Abbie, she strolled in a bright pink fur jacket layered over an all-black ensemble. But it’s her accessories that take her look to the next level. Her sunglasses are vintage Chanel, trimmed with braided chain and leather that are a signature of the French fashion brand’s coveted handbags. She also wore a chunky Chanel chain necklace to match. And our favourite detail: those shearling earmuffs, featuring the maison’s CC logo, because how else should one keep their ears warm?

Skating in sequins

Ban gave us another colourful style moment when she hit the skating rink with Blake and her partner Jett Kain. She wore head-to-toe purple, from her hoop earrings to her fur coat and the shimmering sequin jumpsuit underneath, all of which went nicely with her hot pink manicure. Her oversized, crystal-studded Gucci sunglasses were the cherry on top.

Lynn Ban doesn’t do boring. Even her denim ensembles come with a twist, as she demonstrated while out for brunch with Blake and Jett. She showed up in a wrap denim jacket that featured a hood, over which she masterfully layered a grey shearling vest. And while an outfit with jeans is what most of us will categorise as “casual”, Ban made sure it was everything but through her dramatic winged eyeliner, her statement rings (no doubt, her own designs), and her neon pink nails.

Spikes and all

She sure knows how to make an entrance. Ban stepped into the Opera Gallery to celebrate the Hungs’ anniversary in a black padded coat that was as voluminous as a ballgown. Even more striking was what she wore underneath: a black leather dress covered in silver spikes. It’s one of the punk-inspired looks from Japanese label Noir Kei Ninomiya’s fall/winter 2021 collection, which Ban likely came across while shopping at Dover Street Market. We’d say she nailed the theme of the party—literally.

Bejeweled in the Bahamas

Ban may have been getting some R&R at the Bahamas with the girls of Bling Empire: New York, but that doesn’t mean her glamorous impulses took a vacation too. She dressed for a night out in a sweeping blue silk caftan, adorned with a paisley print and lavishly embellished with jewels. If there’s anyone who knows how to take resort wear to another level, it’s Ban.
