Amfar Gala: What the rich and famous wore to the hottest party in Cannes

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio was a champion of the naked dress trend at the Amfar Gala. She sported a sheer Dundas gown embroidered with Art Deco motifs, which very much called for the white feather boa with which she paired her 1920s-inspired look.

Fan Bingbing set the bar high for herself with her extravagant red carpet looks during the Cannes. For her finishing act, the Chinese actress served up Old Hollywood glamour in a stunning red mermaid gown by Tunisian designer Ali Karoui. She completed the look with a dramatic cape and opera gloves, this season’s hottest accessory.

Like her son Elon Musk, Maye Musk is not one to shy away from attention. The 75-year-old model arrived in a sparkling silver sequin suit that nicely complemented her brilliant white hair.

As she has done at the Cannes red carpet, Indonesian actress and philanthropist Raline Shah chose to showcase exquisite craft through her ensemble: a one-shoulder white lace gown lavishly embellished with pearls, crystals and feathers.

In the same, sultry fashion with which she dominated last year’s gala, Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria attended this year’s event in a sheer, beaded black gown by Ashi Studio.

Filipino-Canadian actress Shay Mitchell turned heads with a naked dress by Los Angeles label Cult Gaia that was outlined in silver rope. It was easily one of the more daring looks of the evening.

Matching the blue carpet at the Amfar Gala, supermodel Coco Rocha donned a sculptural gown by Indian haute couture designer Gaurav Gupta, serving up one of the more avant-garde looks at the event.

Another dramatic moment from the evening came from Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale, who glittered in a metallic purple gown by Tony Ward Couture.

Thai actress Praya Lundberg opted for a simple but powerful look at the Amfar Gala, donning a gold metallic bustier top and a black velvet slit skirt.

British model Jourdan Dunn was the epitome of glamour in her sizzling red LaQuan Smith minidress embellished with sequins and a bow at the back. Her red satin heels were a good call, as they shone against her sheer black tights.

As she demonstrated both on Netflix’s Dubai Bling and at the Cannes red carpet this year, Farhana Bodi loves bright, bold colours. The fashion influencer stood out in a turquoise mosaic dress.

Another Dubai Bling star who stole the spotlight was Loujain Adada. Like Heidi Klum, the Lebanese socialite tapped on designer Georges Hobeika for her look, which resembled a Middle Eastern take on the flapper dress with its gold chain fringe.
