Ready, set, ball: 7 essential steps to get ready for Tatler Ball 2024

A couple of months back, I managed to try the all-new Brow Resurrection Blend at Browhaus in Raffles City Singapore.

This semi-permanent eyebrow treatment creates soft powdered gradient brows that provide a defined yet natural appearance. The process uses advanced embroidery techniques to mimic real hair strands, ensuring that my brows look effortlessly polished with minimal maintenance. Personally, the process was entirely painless for me. It could be due to my high tolerance level for pain (no pain, no gain when it comes to beauty, right?) but rest assured that the team at Browhaus will always ensure that the entire treatment is comfortable for their customers. My skincare prep starts a day in advance as I’ll apply La Mer’s Rejuvenating Night Cream as the last step of my skincare routine. This new cream, which just launched in August this year, promises to reverse eight critical signs of ageing overnight. This luxurious cream is perfect for achieving a more radiant glow in the morning and ensuring that my make-up application is even more seamless. 

Pro tip: I also apply a tiny amount on my hands before bed for a pampering treatment so that I wake up with softer and hydrated hands. You will witness and feel a difference, trust me.

For a flawless complexion, I’ll reach for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Though it just launched last year, this foundation has quickly become a favourite among make-up enthusiasts. It strikes the perfect balance between coverage and lightness, allowing my skin to breathe while evening out my tone. It blends effortlessly, creating a natural look that does not look too cakey or feel uncomfortable on the skin. 

I find myself gravitating towards glossy lips a lot more this year so I was thrilled when Giorgio Armani launched the Prisma Glass lip gloss collection. I have been a fan of their lip products for over a decade. Fun fact: the first-ever matte lipstick that I fell in love with back in 2013 (way before the matte lip trend) was the Lip Maestro by Giorgio Armani. Today, it remains one of my favourite lip products.

As one of my final touches, I’ll spritz on a classic scent of my choice: Si Passione Intense de Parfum by Giorgio Armani. This floral woody fragrance features an intense blend of blackcurrant nectar, jasmine, and patchouli, creating a sophisticated scent that lingers without being overwhelming. It reflects my personal style and sets the tone for an evening filled with joy, meaningful connections and of course, a generous amount of food and drinks.

For soft, hydrated skin, I opt for Aesop’s Geranium Leaf Body Balm. This moisturiser combines macadamia nut oil and aloe vera to provide lasting hydration while imparting a subtle scent. It’s an essential step in ensuring my skin, which tends to be sensitive and dry, feels as good as it looks throughout the evening.

Right before I step out of my home, I’ll use Ouai’s Hair Oil to achieve shiny, manageable hair. Those with damaged hair (especially due to the constant use of heated styling tools or excessive colouring) will want to use this for added hair care.

This Sephora-exclusive product not only adds shine but also helps tame frizz and flyaways without weighing my hair down—perfect for helping any elegant hairstyle to last all night. As an extra step, I also use the Percy & Reed Session Styling Strong Hold Hairspray, a gentle mist hairspray that can support my hairstyle.
