Starting off at the Cobalt Cafe, guests were treated to La Prairie-“stamped” coffees courtesy of Keong Saik Bakery, before embarking on a discovery journey of the brand’s evolution, guided by interactive screens that delved deep into each skincare icon, from the first ever Skin Caviar product, Dermo Beads, to the latest reiteration of the cult classic Skin Caviar Luxe Cream. Sensoriality ensued with therapeutic hand massages, before La Prairie’s lead trainer, Eunice Ho presented a more in-depth look into the 300 different natural ingredients that power the remastered Skin Caviar Luxe Cream; its fortified ability to boost skin’s metabolism to restore facial contours, radiance and clarity from the inside out; and the different, sumptuous textures between the Sheer and Luxe variants.

Charmaine Ong, La Prairie’s regional brand general manager then further introduced the story behind Cobalt House, which was artistically brought to life by award-winning designer and close collaborator of the beauty house, Sabine Marcelis. First showcased at Art Basel 2023, Cobalt House invited visitors into a world inspired by the colours and textures of La Prairie’s Skin Caviar, bedecked with furniture including plush sofas and marble coffees tables in the subtlest shade of creamy pink—recalling the luscious texture and hue of the Skin Caviar Luxe Cream—as well as geometric dining tables comprising clear cobalt panels, on which guests savoured lunch. Marcelis also designed a limited edition objet d’art to mark the new reformulation: a sleek, two-tiered pedestal made to house—and mirror—the iconic blue jar, made of mottled grey quartzite and gleaming blue resin, complete with a curved crevice for a marble spatula.

Lunch was just as masterfully crafted, with a menu curated by structural engineer and architect-turned chef, Matteo Pertoldi of Atipico. The three-course meal took diners on a delectable journey of the senses, with dishes including a carpaccio of Japanese scallops, cold smoke hamachi, watermelon and Kaluga hybrid caviar with a bluepea flower veil that took visual and ingredient cues from Skin Caviar. And for dessert, a delicate—albeit textural—masterpiece of yogurt sorbet, light lemon foam and olive oil caviar left guests palates delightfully refreshed.

Before heading home with their newest La Prairie acquisitions in hand, each guest also took home exclusive pastries designed just for Singapore’s Cobalt House experience, along with a personalised travel-sized Skin Caviar Luxe Cream to take on all their journeys to come.

While the invite-only Cobalt House has closed, La Prairie's Cobalt Immersion pop-up is open to public at Ion Orchard now till 31 August.
