Diptyque’s new space at Marina Bay Sands swaps retail convention for a private collector’s eye—travertine, cherry wood and Haussmann-style alcoves meeting Indo-Malaysian craft
The mosaic underfoot gives it away before anything else does. Cross it, and the forest-green facade that has marked Diptyque boutiques since Paris gives way to something else entirely: a compact 54-square-metre room built, by the maison’s own description, around a kind of roving imagination—the same instinct for originality and poetry that has run through Diptyque since its founding, here given a fixed address.
This is the house’s newest boutique, tucked into The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Travertine floor, monumental mural and an eclectic mix of wooden furnishings combine to create the feeling of stepping into a collector’s home rather than your usual retail space—sophisticated, slightly cluttered in the best sense, entirely its own.
The boutique blends two design traditions. Haussmann-style mouldings and alcoves, drawn from Parisian apartments, sit alongside Indo-Malaysian decorative craftsmanship, with cherry wood running through both.

Take a walk through the boutique and a sequence emerges. Pale-blue animation tables face the entrance, drawing the eye toward its ‘Art of Gifting’ area, where dark-red wooden furniture arches dramatically against pale walls. To the left, a vertical oak bookshelf, almost ladder-like in its verticality, holds the home and decor collections and opens the room up considerably.
Along the side wall, twin built-in alcoves frame the herbarium and candle collection; directly opposite, the fragrance counter sits beneath that wall drawing, backed by shelving for the Essences de Diptyque line.
Furthest back, the journey settles into the ‘Art of Body Care’ area, an intimate space featuring metallic-finish walls that catch the light differently. A stone basin sits within a wood-lined niche, echoing the same wood used in the central arch at the entrance. And finally, look out for the wall light and an armchair—both locally sourced—that close this room with a sense of warmth and quiet.

What waits visitors here at the boutique is simple: floral, woody, spicy and herbaceous notes across the candle range, a fragrance wall, a body care sanctuary, and, scattered throughout, small decorative objects whose only real purpose is to make an ordinary day slightly more beautiful.
