Tatler Singapore brought together a select group of guests for an intimate session with Dior Beauty—and a fragrance that smells, rather precisely, like the end of winter
There is something fitting about discovering a fragrance built on the idea of a lost paradise in the company of others. Dior Paradise, the latest addition to La Collection Privée Christian Dior, was conceived by Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian as an olfactory tribute to the Château de La Colle Noire—Christian Dior’s beloved Provençal estate, where hundreds of almond trees once blossomed at winter’s end. It is a fragrance about memory, longing, and the particular pleasure of arrival. Hosted by Tatler Singapore's senior digital and branded content editor Andrea Saadan, the event brought together a curated group of beauty and fragrance enthusiasts for an afternoon that felt entirely in that spirit.
The session opened with a fragrance discovery workshop, which gave guests the chance to understand Dior Paradise on its own terms—the bright citrus top notes of mandarin, orange and lime giving way to a creamy bitter almond heart, grounded finally in the warm, biscuity depth of Tonka bean. For many in the room, the bitter almond was a revelation: unexpected, perhaps, but immediately compelling.

From there, guests moved between two stations. At one, Dior’s Summer Make Up collection was laid out for exploration—a sun-drenched edit that extended the event’s sensorial mood from fragrance into colour. This took place alongside discovering other fragrances within La Collection Privée Christian Dior. At the other side of the pop-up, a floral bookmark crafting session offered something more hands-on while offering guests a reason to slow down. Working with botanical materials in the same spirit as Dior’s own gardens, guests produced keepsakes made with their own creativity.
A summer popsicle for each guest brought the intimate event to a close—a sweet and seasonal touch, and entirely in keeping with the mood Dior Paradise sets.

La Collection Privée has always occupied a particular register within the Dior universe—more personal, more considered, more quietly demanding of attention than a conventional fragrance launch. Dior Paradise, with its roots in a specific landscape and a specific man's love for it, is no exception. To encounter it in a room of like-minded guests, each arriving at their own reading of the same scent, is to understand why Kurkdjian insists that perfume—however storied its inspiration—is always, finally, a personal creation.
