Dior Paradise: The new La Collection Privée Fragrance inspired by Christian Dior’s Provençal garden

 At the heart of Christian Dior's story lies a garden. Not a metaphorical one, but a real, fragrant sprawl of jasmine, lavender and almond trees at the Château de La Colle Noire in Grasse—the designer's beloved Provençal sanctuary. There, Dior would escape the frenzy of Paris and find the freedom and inspiration to sketch up to 600 designs in a single stay. And now, it is there that Francis Kurkdjian, Dior's perfume creation director, has returned for his latest chapter in La Collection Privée: Dior Paradise.

The new fragrance is luminous and deeply evocative. A radiant citrus top note gives way to the bittersweet, biscuity softness of almond — a nod to the more than 150 almond trees Dior planted at La Colle Noire. Notably the first trees to blossom at the end of winter, they were a sight Monsieur Dior would eagerly anticipate from the windows of his château each year. Underscoring these scents are base notes of a fresh woody accord and warm, enveloping tonka bean. The result is a scent that conveys the feeling of the first rays of sunlight on a Provençal hillside, following a long winter.
