Can you explain the breakthrough discovery in longevity science that La Prairie has developed in collaboration with Clinique La Prairie for the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream?
La Prairie developed Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream to target the root cause of ageing at the molecular level. Indeed, we understood that the root cause of reduced cellular functionality as well as of reduced cellular healthspan, at the end of ageing, is the impaired availability and use of cellular information.
Skin cells use a wealth of complex cellular information to ensure the optimal functionality needed for a healthy skin. In young skin, all the information-carrying biomolecules are available at the right levels for cells to function optimally and skin cells are in a healthy status. As we age, the availability and use of information by cells becomes chaotic. The information-carrying biomolecules are not available anymore or not at the needed levels for cells to function optimally and ageing sets in.
Life Matrix Cream has been shown to reset the levels of RNA biomolecules affected by the ageing process, towards the respective levels in young skin. By doing this, it targets key cellular longevity pathways, thus helping increase cellular healthspan and skin youth longevity.

Starting at the level of the research behind the launch, investigating the root cause of skin youth longevity, cellular healthspan and understanding how information biomolecule levels change with age, through intensive product development, where we developed no less than 76 different formulation variants before validating the perfect one, and not forgetting the incredible feat in innovation and design that is our Life Matrix Cream jar – beyond representing the idea of a clinic in a jar, it really is a piece of art!

Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream contains the Exclusive Matrix Complex a multi-dimensional molecular array of active ingredients built by highly concentrated Exclusive Cellular Complex and extracts of peony roots and calendula flowers.
All three components of the Exclusive Matrix Complex, the Exclusive Cellular Complex, the peony extract and the calendula extract, were shown to reset information biomolecules that are important for key pathways, to a status of a younger skin, for example at the level of epidermal development and stress response.

The Swiss values of high quality, precision and innovation are dear to our hearts. This gives a solid framework and ensures that our approach is science-based. In the case of Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream, we performed very complex research and clinical studies, analysing over 18,000 information biomolecules in order to understand the impact of age on cellular information
and to evaluate the effects of our new breakthrough cream.
In what ways does La Prairie plan to differentiate the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream in the competitive luxury skincare market?
Several levels of differentiation are intrinsically linked to the product itself. Indeed, one level of competitive advantage comes from our understanding of the central role of cellular information use and availability in cellular functionality, healthspan and the ageing process.
Building from this, we carved out a unique approach, centred around the molecules within the cell that carry information. We developed the new Exclusive Matrix Complex based on ingredients that act upon the number and pattern of these information biomolecules.
