Held at Fairmont Singapore’s presidential suite, the luxurious experience indulged guests in in-depth beauty discovery, moonlight flower art and champagne-fuelled catch-ups amongst good friends

Easing guests into the weekend in sensorial fashion, Clarins and Tatler Singapore welcomed an intimate coterie of ladies to Fairmont Singapore for a truly Precious experience.

After ascending to the hotel’s 26th floor, guests were first treated to some bubbly and a panoramic view of the city skyline, before discovering the different areas within the spacious presidential suite—all of which had been decked out to tell the story of Clarins’ Precious skincare range, and the enigmatic moonlight flower that powers it.

“Upon receiving the invitation, I just knew I had to attend”, expressed Ruth Yeoh, “because not only have I been using Clarins for a long time, we have a moonlight flower in our home in Spain so I know how precious it is and wanted to discover more”. Equally fascinated by this unique ingredient that Clarins Research have taken decades to grow, nurture and harvest to perfection, guests were treated to an in-depth presentation by Clarins’ trainers.

The rarefied moonlight flower, which lies at the heart of Clarins’ most premium Precious skincare range, is a delicate white blossom tinged with flecks of gold, and grows on a cactus species native to Central America. Blooming just once a year, there is but a two-hour timeframe during which the flowers achieve the height of their beauty and molecular richness. This is when they are expertly harvested via a cryoextraction process at -196 degrees Celsius to freeze and preserve the fragile molecules which form the heart of the Clarins Precious range, the highly potent and exclusive moonlight flower cryoextract.

This cryoextract helps to reactivate a longevity protein called FOXO which is naturally found in human skin cells. Once “awoken”, this protein helps to steer the skin’s defence mechanisms to better protect it and to counter the harmful impact of oxy-inflammaging caused by free radical damage, environmental pollution, UV exposure, stress and even fatigue. To complement and further amplify the preventative powers of the moonlight flower extract, Clarins Research developed a restructuring peptide trio to work in tandem, to combat the signs of ageing. Together, these form Clarins Precious skin age-delaying technology, and a wholesome reparative, restoring and rejuvenation effect to rebuild firmer, healthier and more radiant, youthful skin.

Following the presentation, guests got to try out a few products from the Precious line, which includes the first trio, which launched earlier this year Precious La Crème, Precious La Crème Yeux and Precious La Lotion; followed by the brand new Precious Le Sérum and Precious La Crème Riche.

With a flute of champagne by their side, guests were also treated to an aroma floral plaster painting session, where they had to”paint” gold foil onto delicate stone slabs featuring the moonlight flower template—then spritzed with a Clarins fragrance to finish their artful diffusers to be taken home. With canapes flowing, one-on-one skincare consultations ensued as guests got to talk about their skin type and skin concerns with La Prairie representatives, who then recommended the most ideal Precious products to match.

Spread across the suite’s living and dining areas, and the master bedroom, guests were also led to a transformed Clarins “spa cabin” where they got to understand the ritualistic steps and application techniques of the Precious Facial, available at the Clarins Skin Spa in Ion Orchard.

The delightfully luxurious Friday afternoon culminated with more clinking of champagne flutes and friendly catch-ups, before guests left with multiple La Prairie treats and their scented, golden moonlight artworks in hand.
