Made with marula oil, Drunk Elephant products have finally reached Philippine shores. Here's what to expect from them here!
The first thing that caught my eye was how colourful everything was. There were pops of neon, bright animal prints, and of course the hallmark elephant known so well among skincare gurus in the United States.

Emanating vitality, Drunk Elephant presents itself with plenty of zest—from eye-catching serum bottles to unique moisturiser pumps. Though they're well-known in the United States, it will be their first foray into the Philippine market this 2022. “I’m so excited to be launching in the Philippines", says founder Tiffany Masterson. “The Drunk Elephant difference has been such a game changer for so many people, and I can’t wait for the community in the Philippines to experience it for themselves.”
Retail partners include SM and Watsons, both of which will provide a platform for clientele looking to get their hands on Drunk Elephant this October 2022.

As one of the first to test out these products, Tatler Philippines can attest to the variety and efficacy of Drunk Elephant. First and foremost is their Virgin Marula Facial Oil. This is the item that Drunk Elephant is best known for—their pièce de résistance if you will (in fact, marula oil also inspired the name Drunk Elephant when Tiffany Masterson saw a video of elephants "acting drunk" after foraging through a marula tree).
Made as a moisturiser, it is high in essential fatty acids and amino acids, making it a popular add-on in skincare. Their Lala Retro Whipped Cream is another bestseller; made inside a special pump, it is light, refreshing and a perfect addition to both day and night routines. Those looking to add beauty to skincare can try the Drunk Elephant O-Bloos Rosi Drops, a serum that also gives its wearer a rosy finish to the skin. A bronzer version is also available: called the O-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops, these give its wearer that beautiful golden glow when applied. All in all, Drunk Elephant is making eight cleansers, seven moisturisers, seven serums, and five treatments available for Filipino clientele—a veritable collection to say the least.

Fairly lackadaisical by nature, I have to admit that I'm not the most consistent when it comes to skincare. But this is where Drunk Elephant provides a huge advantage. Known for something called "skincare smoothies", the American brand has made it much easier for busy (or lazy) people to take care of their skin.

Drunk Elephant encourages everyone to mix their products together to create a "smoothie" that contains all the needed love one needs for their skin. No need to apply it layer by layer, anyone can mix in virgin marula oil with the Lala Retro Whipped Cream and a drop or two of the O-Bronzi Sunshine Drops to create a quick and easy formulation you can apply right away. There's no right or wrong way to go about this; in fact, the brand encourages everyone to have fun with their products—mixing it in together to create a unique skincare speciality tailored to your own needs. What makes this possible is the fact that all Drunk Elephant products are already formulated at optimal pH levels, making them easy to blend and easy to be absorbed by the skin. In other words, Drunk Elephant formulations are already biocompatible, making it easy for the skin to recognise them at a molecular level.

Drunk Elephant has also happily removed six suspicious ingredients which they call the "Suspicious 6". These are what they believe to be at the bottom of most skincare problems; as such they have removed essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrances/dyes, and SLS from each and every product. Safe, effective, and now finally accessible, Drunk Elephant is sure to be everyone's go-to come October.
The collection will be available online at lookatme.com.ph and at brick-and-mortar LOOK At Me SM Aura Premier, SM Megamall, SM Makati, and LOOK At Me SM Mall of Asia locations in the Philippines. Fans can also visit @drunkelephant on Instagram to learn more and share their skincare journey with the brand’s passionate community.
