Here's what the country's leading makeup artists think about face contour
Contouring, a makeup technique that plays with light and shadow, can help define features of the face and add dimension. This technique can be a tad bit tricky for beginners; blending and choosing the right colour to match your skin tone is no easy task.
While some seek advice, others wonder if it's essential to their everyday makeup routine.
Fortunately, we had a little help from the country's leading makeup artists.

Back in the 90s, they used to say that contouring is for cameras. In this age when everyone takes photos everywhere and every time, contouring has become a staple.
Off-cam, contouring works if you are doing a full-on polished look where the contour blends with all the other makeup products. If you are doing a no-foundation-bare-skin-look, contouring may look good on-cam but in person, it will look like dirt or libag when there’s no foundation to blend it with.

Yes, always love a good contour. It gives dimension to the face by adding shadow to certain areas specifically to define your features. There are so many techniques out there but don’t get too intimidated, I highly suggest working with creams as it gives the most natural look!

Our faces are flat without contour. I honestly don't go out without bronzer or contour. My tip for contour is it should be [a] cool tone. A contour is supposed to give you depth especially when you ate so much salty food. A good contour tone will help you slay the day and fight that bloated look. Also, make sure that you place it right to give you lifted and well-sculpted cheeks. Tip: the contour should end just below the alar of your nose. Not on the side of your lips. You’ll look old if you do that.

It depends on the look that you are going for. If you want a more defined and more sculpted face then use contouring.
Contour the hollows of your face and make sure to blend and use a contour shade that is neutral, not warm.

Contouring makes a whole difference in emphasizing your features. When choosing for a contour, go for a shade that is on the taupe side, not orange. Knowing where to apply depends on your features and always blend the product well!
