On the Thursday evening of December 12, 2024, the scenic Torito at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur became the setting for a celestial celebration as friends of Tatler joined us for an intimate soirée with the legendary house of Creed. The exclusive affair marked the launch of the maison’s latest olfactory masterpieces—Delphinus and Centaurus—two extraordinary scents from the new Amber Universe collection that capture the mystique and wonder of the cosmos.

The evening unfolded against the backdrop of the city’s glittering skyline, as guests experienced firsthand the contrasting yet complementary nature of these new fragrances.

As guests arrived, they were instantly enveloped in the essence of the Amber Universe, where light and darkness, strength and tenderness converged in perfect harmony. Before the affair officially began, general manager of commercial at Tatler Malaysia, Suraya Rahmat, and Helena Pang of Creed Malaysia took to the floor with a warm welcome speech, setting the tone for the evening.

Guests were treated to a carefully curated menu of classic cocktails inspired by the duality and depth of the fragrances themselves, with the bold, aromatic negroni reflecting the fiery intensity of Centaurus, whilst the smooth, refreshing whiskey sour mirrored the soft, inviting warmth of Delphinus. Canapés were also served, perfectly complementing the cocktails with a selection of savoury and sweet bites, adding an extra layer of indulgence to the sensory experience.

Throughout the evening, the captivating scents of the Amber Universe danced in the air. The leathery amber aroma of Delphinus greeted guests with its radiant, ethereal composition of black and pink pepper, balanced by the smoky allure of resinous incense and the delicate warmth of orris, tonka bean, and Bourbon vanilla, evoking the gentle luminescence of a star-strewn night. As the evening progressed, Centaurus ignited the atmosphere with a burst of spices, its fiery blend of tobacco and cinnamon sparking an invigorating energy that radiated throughout the room, before its warm, woody base of Bourbon vanilla and benzoin grounded the space with a deep, velvety sweetness.

As a special touch to the affair, an engraving booth was set up at the venue, allowing guests to personalise their Amber Universe fragrance with their names and zodiac constellations.
