Ex Nihilo

Founded in 2013 by Benoît Verdier, Olivier Royère, and Sylvie Loday, Parisian perfumery house Ex Nihilo entered the scene fuelled with a thirst to disrupt and innovate, setting itself apart from the clichés of luxury. With no cost or creative limitations, the house has introduced numerous one-of-a-kind fragrances in collaboration with some of the best perfumers in the industry, including the likes of Quentin Bisch, Louise Turner, and Antoine Maisondieu.

Acqua di Parma

At the heart of Acqua di Parma, the Italian perfumery house is a love letter to its ever-radiant land. The epitome of Italian sophistication, the house’s rich history trails all the way back to 1916 in the enchanting city of Parma, where its founder, Baron Carlo Magnani, sought to capture the effervescent zest of the Italian sunshine in a bottle, now known as the timeless classic Colonia cologne. Over a century later, the house continues to delight our olfactory senses with a taste of Italy’s marvels.

Juliette Has a Gun

Being the descendant of the renowned couturier and perfumer Nina Ricci, the art of style and perfumery runs deep in Romanco Ricci’s veins. Perpetuating his great-grandmother’s legacy, Ricci founded Juliette Has a Gun as an aromatic ode to the modern woman. Each fragrance encapsulates the many facets of femininity through a blend of bold and delicate aromas, evoking innocence and sensuality with an air of mystery.

Byredo

In the world of niche fragrances, Ben Gorham’s brainchild, Byredo, is a force to be reckoned with. More than just instruments of aromatic pleasures, the house’s olfactory offerings whisper the tales of Gorham’s roots and adventures, taking us on a sensory journey through blends of aromatic notes that are imbued with sentimentalities.

Etat Libre d’Orange

Etat Libre d’Orange revels in being the enfant terrible of the fragrance world—a provocateur that goes against the grain of all conventional norms in perfumery. Frustrated by the creative constraints imposed by consumer-driven beauty giants that favoured tried-and-true formulas over innovative exploration, perfumer Etienne de Swardt made a bold departure from the high echelons of the fragrance industry to launch the brand in 2006 with a mission to disrupt and provoke—and he sure did.

Etat Libre d’Orange quickly gained notoriety for its audacious names and avant-garde scents, such as the infamous Secretions Magnifique, designed to replicate the visceral, raw aroma of bodily fluids and sex. Despite the bizarre and strange composition of some of its offerings, many are wonderfully wearable, featuring uniquely captivating scent profiles that are meticulously crafted to evoke emotions, memories, and sensations that resonate deeply with those who dare to wear them.

Nasomatto

Amsterdam-based fragrance brand Nasomatto rejects the rigid rules and formulas of conventional perfumery. The brand’s creations are characterised by their boldness and intensity. They are crafted with a specific narrative and inspiration in mind, using the finest ingredients to create long-lasting scents that captivate the imagination.

Frédéric Malle

In an industry dominated by mass appeal and market-driven trends, Frédéric Malle remains grounded in his passion for pure artistry and individuality, leading him to launch Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle in 2000 to offer perfumers a sanctuary for authentic, unrestrained olfactory expression.

The brand is all about rejecting mass-market conformity. Instead, it embraces complexity, emotion, and individual creativity. Unlike the industry standard of keeping these artists anonymous, Malle celebrates them by revealing the names of the noses behind each bottle. Perfumers are given unprecedented liberty to experiment with rare ingredients and innovative combinations, creating fragrances that feel textured, layered, and alive.

Each fragrance is a carefully concocted narrative, designed to evoke deep feelings and personal memories. The richness of their ingredients, the precision of their composition, and the palpable depth of their textures embody a level of craftsmanship that stands apart in the world of luxury fragrances.

Zoologist

For those seeking more than a typical commercial fragrance, Zoologist offers a unique olfactory experience that captures the wonders of the animal kingdom in each bottle. Drawing inspiration from the diverse traits, behaviours, and habitats of creatures great and small, the brand concocts bold, animalistic scents that are simultaneously unusual and captivating.

Maison Crivelli

Born in Paris and raised between central France and Provence, Thibaud Crivelli, founder of Maison Crivelli, comes from a family with a storied legacy of exploration that spans over 150 years and five continents. The brand itself is defined by this adventurous spirit, where the Crivelli collaborates with various master perfumers to his sensory-rich encounters through scent. Each fragrance is a sensory adventure that captures a unique moment of discovery during his travels, transporting wearers to distant, unexpected locations with every spritz.

Memo Paris

Memo Paris, established in 2007, embodies the adventurous spirits of its founders—Clara Molloy, a Parisian-Catalan poet, and her husband John Molloy, an Irish globetrotter. Their unique vision transforms fragrance creation into a journey through magical destinations, utilising exceptional natural ingredients to capture the essence of the world's most beautiful landscapes.

The house distinguishes itself by giving perfumers unrestricted creative freedom, resulting in distinctive compositions with strong character. Their Cuirs Nomades collection notably features a vintage travel theme, evoking memories of antique leather cases and luggage. Meanwhile, collections like Eau de Memo and Graines Vagabondes demonstrate innovative approaches to expressing freshness in perfumery. Each perfume is crafted to be more than just a scent, but as a sensory journey that blends intensity with sophistication, creating memorable olfactory stories that linger.

Escentric Molecules

When perfumer Geza Schoen encountered the aroma-molecule Iso E Super in its pure form, it sparked an epiphany that would eventually lead him to launch Escentric Molecules in 2006 with two bold creations: one containing 65 per cent Iso E Super blend, and another featuring just the molecule itself. What began as an artistic experiment blossomed into a cultural phenomenon. The minimalist, single-molecule formula was hailed as the "anti-fragrance fragrance" and became an instant cult hit. The success prompted Schoen to expand the line, creating subsequent pairs numbered 02, 03, 04, and eventually 05 in 2020. Each iteration celebrates rare aroma-molecules possessing sufficient complexity and radiance to stand independently. Escentric Molecules continues to challenge conventional perfumery, celebrating the power of simplicity and the magnetic allure of Iso E Super.

Floraïku

The sister label of Memo Paris, Floraïku was launched in 2017 by Clara and John Molloy as an homage to Japanese culture. Each fragrance encapsulates the beauty and elegance of Japanese ceremonies and traditions, from the breathtaking packaging down to the blends of natural ingredients.
