Never apologise for putting yourself first. It’s time to give yourself the gift of self-care with Merz Aesthetic’s Ultherapy® treatment

During times of uncertainty, people have begun to rethink the things that bring them happiness. At this point, comfort and joy may look different for every individual. Self-care can be many things; it can be cooking, keeping active, or even taking care of their skin.

Taking care of how you look shouldn’t be deemed unimportant as some people find it relaxing—therapeutic, even—as it makes them feel good about themselves. Moreover, who wouldn’t want to leave the house without having to spend too much time getting made up?

Actress Bela Padilla would agree. “Wearing no makeup at all when going out is my personal gauge for good, healthy skin,” she says.

But while other people stick to a 10-step skincare routine to have healthier skin, Padilla admits that she does the complete opposite. You’d think that she dedicates extra time in front of the mirror as a way of taking better care of her complexion, but three years ago, the actress had found an easier way to do so.

“A co-star of mine (Tony Labrusca) told me that he had just tried Ultherapy® and I could feel that he was so happy with the results. So, I booked a session with my favourite, The Aivee Clinic, and I had zero expectations,” she recalls. “I assumed it would hurt more (topical anaesthesia is applied before each session) and that my downtime would be longer. But a few hours after, I saw that the swelling already subsided, and I was able to go on with my day like nothing happened.”

Ultherapy®’s newest campaign, Face Your Best, was launched to remind us all to be kind to ourselves during these precarious times through the Ultherapy® Hyper-Personalised Lift.

It is the only US FDA-cleared non-invasive skin lifting treatment and has now become a favourite among many clients of aesthetic clinics which isn’t surprising as it only takes one session to provide results.

Padilla shares, “I’ve always had a double chin, even on my thinnest or lightest months and it’s always been an insecurity of mine. I’ve tried every kind of treatment for it, but it just comes back a few days after. With Ultherapy®, you see results so instantly and I feel confident for months—until I need my next session again!”

This is because Ultherapy® uses microfocosued ultrasound energy with visualization (MFU-V), which helps a doctor see deep within the layers of the skin and allows tailored treatment by addressing specific concerns of each skin type. It also helps stimulate the body to produce collagen and elastin—all on our own—for natural-looking results. You’ll be having a fresh and youthful appearance in no time.

Padilla encourages others to do their research and tell their doctors what exactly it is they want to achieve. “Good doctors will be honest with you and will tell you what is and isn’t possible. Stick with those doctors,” she says. “And also, if it’s something that you feel would make you more confident and happier, go for it!”
