Amid the technicolour tableaux of a newly reopened Hong Kong icon, HSBC Premier Elite clients gathered for an afternoon that brought together wealth, art and heritage.
HSBC hosted a Premier Elite clients-only Wealth Advantage launch Client Reception at Villa Haw Par, giving clients one of the first opportunities to experience the reopening of the Tai Hang landmark. HSBC Premier Elite service, which offers clients with total relationship balance of over HK$7.8M with HSBC Hong Kong, priority services at HSBC Wealth Centres with teams of experts with over 16 years of experiences, tailored wealth solutions and array of lifestyle experiences.
Long regarded as one of Hong Kong’s cultural icons, the villa’s kaleidoscopic grottoes and statues have for generations embodied the meeting of east and west. The unquie setting for an afternoon is more than a beautiful backdrop, that wove together wealth and art, market intelligence and heritage. Guests gathered for cocktail reception, as well as photo moments around the villa’s storied grounds, before being guided to their seats.
Proceedings opened with a keynote from Michelle Kwok, Managing Director, Global Investment Research, and Head of Hong Kong Equity Research, Regional Head of Real Estate Research at HSBC, whose address, “Top hot topics in the property and equity markets”, unpacked the issues weighing most on institutional investors’ minds. The session examined the long-term implications of recent mainland China regulatory shifts on Hong Kong’s capital markets; regional capital reallocation trends; and how Hong Kong equities may re-rate amid AI-driven disruption and evolving liquidity conditions.
The second keynote came from Patrick Ho, chief investment officer, North Asia, private banking and wealth at HSBC. Titled “Understanding US-China AI dynamics and global innovation capital flows”, the talk charted the competitive and collaborative currents between the two AI superpowers, identifying where technological convergence may reshape ecosystems in the years ahead, and translated those themes into actionable investment ideas for Asia’s next cycle.

Together, the two sessions spoke to HSBC’s broader ambition for the series: to empower Premier Elite clients with timely, thematic wealth intelligence. By delivering institutional-grade, first-hand insights typically reserved for professional investors directly to its high-net-worth clients, HSBC aims to support their wealth progression and help them shape their portfolios with greater conviction and clarity.
The guests had an interactive exchange with the HSBC wealth experts after the sharing, then guests then mingled over more refreshments, took in the villa’s photo and interactive moments, and joined curated tours through its storied grounds.

The reception was part of HSBC Premier Elite Advantage series, which brings clients access to ideas, people and opportunities that go beyond banking — creating a distinctive community for those who seek to grow their wealth with purpose, stay ahead and experience the extraordinary. For those in attendance, it was a reminder that wealth, like heritage, is best appreciated with the right guidance—and the right company.
