It’s official—a ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ series is finally in the works. But what does it take to actually be one? Find out below

The air is thick—not just with Hong Kong’s unbearable humidity—but with anticipation for the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians series.

In a recent interview with Variety, Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of Max, confirmed rumours that a new Crazy Rich Asians series is being developed for the streaming platform.

The Crazy Rich Asians film hit the theatres six summers ago (can you believe it?) in 2018. Based on Kevin Kwan’s novel of the same name, it became the first major studio film in 25 years to feature an all-Asian cast.

And since there are several honourable mentions of Tatler—or “Tattle” as it’s called in the novel—there’s no better authority to explain just what makes one worthy of being called a “Crazy Rich Asian”.
