Prince William’s Earthshot Prize Awards came to Singapore for the first time, and launched its inaugural Earthshot Week with a series of panel discussions led by international leaders and experts in climate and business.
This year’s winners were announced at a star-studded awards ceremony held at Mediacorp Theatre on November 7. Living up to its “Eco Oscars” moniker, the night opened with celebrities like actors Cate Blanchett, Donnie Yen and Lana Condor walking down the green carpet—many of whom wore sustainably crafted ensembles.

Three-time Emmy Award winning actor Sterling K. Brown joined actress Hannah Waddington to co-host the event, which was a night of extraordinary storytelling and performances that celebrated the work of the 15 inspiring climate entrepreneurs shortlisted as finalists.
Exciting musical performances by OneRepublic, Bastille and Bebe Rexha kept guests entertained, while renowned conservationist Sir David Attenborough made a special video appearance to commemorate the occasion. Congratulating the finalists, Attenborough added that the night was a way to “celebrate those who are leading the way to a better future”.

Centred around five environmental goals or “Earthshots”, the finalists who were each awarded the £1 million prize were:
Protect and Restore Nature: Acción Andina, from Peru. The grassroots, community-based initiative works across South America to protect native high Andean forest ecosystems for their invaluable benefits to nature and millions of people in the region.
Clean Our Air: GRST, from Hong Kong. The start-up developed a new way to build and recycle vital lithium-ion batteries, paving the way to make electric cars of the future even cleaner.
Revive Our Oceans: WildAid Marine Program, a global organisation with US-based headquarters. The non-profit scales marine enforcement to end illegal fishing and strengthen ocean conservation.
Build a Waste-Free World: S4S Technologies from India. The agritech start-up uses its solar-powered dehydration equipment to combat food waste, enabling small-hold farmers to preserve crops and turn produce that might otherwise go to waste into valuable products.
