A collaborative effort between cultural institutions dear to the heart of the late arts and culture patron, the ‘Remembering Nedy’ concert celebrates the life of Nedy Tantoco
The unforgettable musical event Remembering Nedy commemorated Nedy Tantoco’s 78th birthday. It was a collaborative effort between the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the Philharmonic Orchestra Society, Inc. (PPOSI), paying tribute to the esteemed figure known for her contributions to business, art and culture.
Following her passing in February of this year, Tantoco left behind a rich legacy of memories cherished by her peers and various cultural organisations, including the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO). As a member of the CCP board from 2002 to 2021, she played a crucial role in co-producing numerous fundraising events supported by the Rustan Group of Companies and other sponsors.

Thanks to her dedication, these events yielded financial support for the CCP and contributed to acquiring new instruments for the PPO. Anton Huang, who received an Orlina sculpture and plaque on behalf of his mother, delivered a heartfelt speech. “Mum was not only a visionary in the world of music and arts but also a passionate advocate who dedicated her life to enriching our cultural heritage,” he said.
Huang stressed that his late mother’s life was well-lived. “As we reflect on her life and contributions today, we are reminded of her indelible mark on our community. This tribute and memorial are a recognition of her achievements and a celebration of the passion and spirit she shared with each of us.”
