Cover Founder and CEO of Loob Holding, Bryan Loo, is honoured for his contributions towards Malaysia’s homegrown F&B industry with the Tatler Impact Award for Business.

Bryan Loo, founder and CEO of Loob Holding, is honoured for spearheading the growth of various homegrown brands, including Tealive, Bask Bear Coffee, WonderBrew Kombucha, and SodaXpress, each carrying a testament towards his vision in shaping Malaysia’s modern F&B landscape.

While Bryan Loo had not set out to become a household name in the beverage industry, he has made vast strides in securing his place as one of Malaysia’s most recognisable entrepreneurs for his outstanding work within the F&B scene. Beginning his journey with just a single Tealive kiosk in Malaysia, it has since evolved into global recognition with over 1,000 outlets across Asia, Europe, and Australia. Today, Loo is recognised with the Tatler Impact Award for Business, a testament to his vision, persistence, and role in shaping the modern F&B landscape under his leadership as founder and CEO of Loob Holding.

With his keen and observant eye, Loob Holding has expanded into a multi-brand group that now includes familiar staples such as Bask Bear, Happy Potato, Gindaco, WonderBrew Kombucha, and Sodaxpress.

Above Celebrating Bryan Loo, the force behind Tealive, Bask Bear Coffee, WonderBrew Kombucha, and more.

While many might prefer to play it safe, when Loo sees an opportunity, he is not afraid to take it by the reins. In just four years, he has expanded local coffee brand Bask Bear into one of the largest (and fastest) growing coffee chains in Malaysia, with currently over 140 outlets. Loob also played a strategic role in developing WonderBrew, Malaysia’s first halal-certified kombucha brand, which is poised to help propel Loob into becoming the leading multi-channel beverage group, as it is already a market leader available across 2,000 touchpoints. It does not end there, as Loob’s investment in associate company Happy Potato Ventures has also helped it scale up to 90 stores, with a target of reaching 100 outlets by the end of this year.

His numerous calculated approaches have paid off, earning him recognition far beyond Malaysia. Loo was named an Endeavour Entrepreneur in 2023 by the international selection panel of Endeavour—a global network supporting high-impact founders—and two years later, he was invited to join the prestigious Endeavour Outliers Class of 2025, an elite cohort of entrepreneurs leading some of the world’s fastest-growing ventures. Being one of the only three Malaysians to have ever been selected, this marks an astounding milestone under Loo’s belt.

Above Loo, whose strategic eye and steady ambition continue to elevate Malaysia’s homegrown F&B scene.

And now, his ambition moves beyond the region and onto the international stage, as Tealive is set to enter the Middle East through a partnership with Dubai-based Eureka Restaurant and Café, with five flagship stores planned by 2025. At the same time, he continues to prioritise sustainability by eliminating single-use plastics in all Tealive stores and transitioning toward sourcing Tealive’s beloved tapioca pearls from local farmers, strengthening Malaysia’s agricultural supply chain.

As his next chapter unfolds, Loo continues to invest in platforms that extend his impact. His vision now includes online content creation and storytelling, reflected in his investment in Good Foodie Media, an online network comprising over 20 content titles. As he sees it, digital engagement is essential in building a brand that lasts. However, at the heart of it all is his approach to leadership, which includes the traits of being someone who is hands-on, thoughtful, and attentive to detail. Ultimately, Loo has built more than just a business empire; he has become an inspiration to entrepreneurs everywhere.
