Sparkly headliner

When Aisyah Aziz released the very first song she wrote on her own in 2018, she probably had no inkling that she’d perform at Singapore’s National Day Parade four years later.

On August 9, the singer-songwriter shared a carousel of her preparing for her performance and backstage with fireworks in the background that perfectly matched her silver sequinned dress.

Family affair

Arthur Lam, the co-founder of Negawatt Utility and Synergy Group, checked out the Hong Kong Affordable Art Fair over the weekend and shared on Instagram some of the inspiring pieces that caught his eye.

He also gave a shout-out to his cousin Alvin Lam, whose intricate and beautiful hand-drawn depictions of Hong Kong were featured at the fair.

Raising mental health awareness

Hong Kong swimmer Stephanie Au did something she’d never done before, not even when she herself was a student—she participated in her first joint school event.

Au shared an Instagram slideshow of her speaking at the Hong Kong Joint School Society of Psychology’s Psychology And Mental Health Fair 2022, and joked that she never had the chance to be part of such events while at university because all her time was devoted to swimming.

She also wrote in her post that while she was talking on stage, she noticed people in the audience nodding along, which showed her that even though “what I do is swim, my impact doesn’t have to be limited to only the athletic world”.
