The awards is also open for nominations until July 31

Apcom, a Thailand-based not-for-profit organisation advancing LGBTQ+ rights and HIV response across Asia-Pacific, is holding its annual Hero Awards on November 25.

The fundraising gala honours individuals and organisations who have contributed to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ communities and those affected by HIV. It will present awards across 10 categories, which includes Business Ally, Community Ally, HIV Hero, Social Justice and Transgender Hero.

Apcom, where 2020 Gen.T honouree Midnight Poonkasetwattana is executive director, first launched the awards in 2017 in conjunction with the organisation’s 10th anniversary. This year, it teams up with three regional community partners—APN+, APTN, and ILGA Asia—to organise the event, which will take place at the Australian embassy in Bangkok.

Nominations for the awards are now open. If you know of an individual or organisation that deserves the recognition, submit your nomination at the Hero Awards website.
