Singapore will welcome its first-ever Luxury Collection property with the opening of The Laurus, an all-suite hotel set within the lush surrounds of Sentosa, in a collaboration between Resorts World Sentosa and Marriott International

Singapore’s reputation as a global hub for luxury travel is set to reach new heights with the unveiling of The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). Slated to open in the third quarter of 2025, this highly anticipated property will be the first of Marriott International’s prestigious The Luxury Collection brand to grace Singapore’s shores.

Perched on the edge of a tropical forest in Sentosa, the 183-suite property is set to open in the third quarter of 2025 and marks a pivotal moment in Resorts World Sentosa’s evolution into a more elevated, experience-led destination.

The Laurus is conceived as a modern sanctuary that pays tribute to both Singapore’s heritage and the ethos of global exploration. Drawing inspiration from the idea of a “collector’s home”, the hotel promises a sense of curated intimacy: where design, setting and service are all finely tuned to evoke the feeling of a private residence rather than a traditional resort.

The Laurus is the result of a landmark collaboration between RWS and Marriott International, two hospitality giants known for their commitment to quality and innovation.

Tan Hee Teck, chief executive officer of RWS, describes the project as part of RWS’ transformational expansion plans, aimed at redefining luxury guest experiences. “The Laurus embodies the very essence of our pivot towards curated destination experiences,” he explains, highlighting how the hotel will celebrate Singapore’s rich heritage while embracing Sentosa’s lush natural beauty.

This strategic partnership with Marriott International is more than a brand milestone; it signals Sentosa’s quiet shift from theme park tourism towards an integrated luxury lifestyle proposition. With developments such as The Laurus, RWS is positioning itself to attract a more discerning traveller—one who values serenity and curated luxury experiences.
