For one, Cape Town’s Mount Nelson is celebrating its 125th anniversary with an exciting line-up of cultural experiences throughout the year. Meanwhile, Jumeirah Group has opened its first hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah. And for those looking to catch the cherry blossoms, book a stay at the newly opened Courtyard by Marriott Fukui in Japan. 

In Paris, Mandarin Oriental Exclusive Homes has unveiled its latest private vacation home, Château de la Croix des Gardes; while Cheval Blanc Paris has opened its fourth dining concept, Hakuba.

1. Château de la Croix des Gardes

Mandarin Oriental Exclusive Homes has expanded its portfolio, this time in Cannes. The latest property to join the collection of private vacation homes, Château de la Croix des Gardes is a lavish 16-room estate that sits amidst 25 acres of Italian-style gardens and offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. The estate is complete with an infinity pool, private bowling alley, cinema room and tennis court. 16 impressionist-inspired en-suite bedrooms are also available and spread across the estate’s main house, cottage and pool penthouse.

This luxurious resort in Cape Town is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a series of cultural experiences throughout the year. The resort is celebrating with a partnership with research, education and exhibition centre Norval Foundation to offer a selection of artworks around the resort. The collection of artwork features South African artists, contemporary artists from the African continent, and more. Avid tea drinkers can also look forward to the resort’s 125-year commemorative tea blend, and those with fur kids should check out the latest Mount Nelson x Chommies collaboration range featuring luxury pet accessories.

3. Courtyard by Marriott Fukui

If you find yourself in Fukui during your next trip to Japan, consider booking a stay at this newly opened hotel. The first Marriott International hotel in Fukui, the property boasts 252 rooms that overlook the city and coastal cliffs. Rooms and suites feature natural colour palettes and warm textures of wood and stone. It’s also fully fitted with spacious bathrooms, comfortable bedding and smart TV.

4. Cheval Blanc Paris

Cheval Blanc Paris has unveiled its latest Japanese restaurant, Hakuba. The luxury hotel’s fourth dining concept is a collaboration between chef Takuya Watanabe and pastry chef Maxime Frederic, inviting guests to indulge in a delectable Omakase meal. Find dishes ranging from sushi and caramelised fish to soba and finger lime. The dining experience is further elevated by its interiors which interpret a contemporary vision of Japanese tradition—think Tsukubai stone, bamboo fountain, dark woods and warm tones. Expect plates crafted by skilful artisans from Kyoto and Fukuoka regions.

5. Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah

Jumeirah Group has opened its first hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Check into the Junior Suite with options that overlook either the city or the Great Mosque of Makkah. The suites boast with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in natural light, a lavish bathroom and more. Currently, the hotel has opened 507 rooms and suites with a further 526 to be opened in phases. Eight dining destinations are available too, with cuisines ranging from Mediterranean to Middle Eastern.
