Tatler headed to the luxurious Tria Spa at MGM Macau and award-winning Aji at MGM Cotai—two immersive experiences that showcase the best of wellness and fine dining in Macau

The sister properties MGM Macau and MGM Cotai are known for their bold architecture, curated art and world-class hospitality—but it’s what lies within that truly impresses.

Tatler recently headed over for a visit, discovering two jewels in the crown: the deeply restorative Tria Spa at MGM Macau and the innovative fine-dining destination Aji at MGM Cotai. Both promise immersive, sensory-rich experiences—and deliver them with finesse.

Tria Spa

Tucked inside MGM Macau, Tria Spa is a sanctuary where silence is golden and scent is storytelling. The journey begins with a whisper of orange and lavender, gently coaxing you into serenity. Every detail, from the Himalayan salt room to the hyperbaric hydrogen oxygen capsule (the only one of its kind in Macau), is designed to align body, mind and the five Chinese elements.

Aji

At Aji, Chef Pan Sihui’s philosophies of “Asian bistronomy” live up to their promise. This is not fusion for fusion’s sake; it’s a confident celebration of Asia’s culinary soul, executed with finesse. The Aji Lobster Thermidor—charcoal-grilled and finished with salted egg and yuzu—was smoky and rich, while the foie gras with hazelnut and spiced caramel balanced decadence with delicacy. The sakura ebi (shrimp) noodles, described as an Asian-inspired pasta dish, is an umami-rich creation made using lobster bisque; it also features Thai basil and is topped with firefly squids, adding extra layers of texture and sweetness.

The space, a dramatic interplay of red, grey and light, lets you dine amid the buzz of an open kitchen—and the quiet power of a chef who knows exactly what he’s doing.
