A centennial stay at Le Bristol, where timeless elegance and French art de vivre quietly endure
Looking back at the year that was, one of my favourite memories of 2025 was a girls’ trip to Paris in the fall. Our Parisian residence on this holiday was the iconic Le Bristol in the heart of Faubourg Saint-Honoré. This quintessential grande dame of palace hotels just happened to be celebrating its centennial this year, making our stay even more memorable.
From the minute we stepped into its fabled doors, after a long flight from Manila, the unmistakable air of quiet luxury and bespoke hospitality enveloped us. Le Bristol’s perfect balance of old-world elegance, cosy charm and impeccable service made our stay unforgettable.

I loved the exuberant arrangements of orchids that welcomed us in the lobby, set against 18th-century antiques and tapestries and the subtle fragrance—created by master candle maker Cire Trudon for Le Bristol’s 100th birthday—that permeated the hotel’s spaces. I was charmed by our bedroom’s pastel blue hues, crisp embroidered linens and warm lighting.

It was a joy to begin each morning with a leisurely breakfast downstairs at Epicure, overlooking the hotel’s courtyard garden. Time seemed to stand still as our wonderful breakfasts would extend for hours, from one cappuccino to another, as we plotted the day’s agenda and our subsequent meals.

In a nod to the hotel’s 100th year, thoughtful surprises awaited each time we came home to our rooms at the end of the day: from fine chocolates and delightful sweets, to savoury bites thoughtfully created by the in-house L’Epicerie des Ateliers; signature champagne from the Oetker vineyards and, always, the most beautiful flowers arranged on the corner table. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect haven in the City of Light.

“For me, it was comforting to experience the Bristol’s discreet, low-key elegance in every way—from the nicely decorated rooms (with champagne, pralines and macarons) and living spaces with traditional French furniture, to the old world kind of concierge service throughout our stay,” said Gina Roxas. “I particularly loved the beautiful courtyard garden impeccably landscaped in the centre of the property that could be enjoyed while having breakfast, coffee or just moving around the hotel.”
These sentiments were echoed by Lizzie Zobel as we were reminiscing about our trip on a recent afternoon.
