First unveiled in 1882, Moreau Paris’ Monogram represents the brand’s heritage in cabinetmaking and trunk production

Toward the tail end of the 19th century, technological advances revolutionised travel. Where we were once limited by wind and water, we now harness steam and coal to propel us forward. Steamboats and trains made us more connected than ever before, amplifying the spirit of adventure that had already been instilled centuries prior. The demand for baggage to carry our belongings over these vast distances grew at an exponential rate—a demand that the Moreau family was well-equipped to address.

The Moreau family had already established themselves as talented makers of cabinets and trunks. Thanks to this inherent expertise, they founded their first boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, offering bespoke trunks, bags and other accessories to discerning travellers. During this period, Moreau produced its first Monogram, a geometric pattern inspired by interlocking wicker stems that, at the time, were traditionally used to craft travel trunks. This symbol has grown to represent the house, whose foundation is built upon artistry, meticulous craftsmanship and its storied past: a seamless blend of tradition and innovation.

In Manila, Moreau 1882 is exclusively available alongside the brand’s latest offers such as the one-of-a-kind Philippine-exclusive bags in the Moreau boutique in 8Rockwell, inside Homme et Femme store.
