From parrot shows to pony rides, Farm in the City is a beloved petting zoo that offers a serene green sanctuary with animals in the heart of the city. The petting zoo showcases a variety of animals from across Asia as well as from Africa, South America and North America, offering exciting and well-curated animal education programmes while promoting conservation.
The animals are sure to be a hit with the little ones, with activities that include feeding meerkats and lemurs to embarking on a pony ride or even hanging out with pelicans at the pelican enclosure.
Farm in the City is open from on weekdays from 10am to 6pm and on weekends and public holidays from 9.30am to 6pm. Take note that is closed every Tuesday, with the exception of public holidays and school holidays.

Suria KLCC

Given its location in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle and its proximity to upscale hotels like Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur and Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Suria KLCC is a family-friendly shopping mall that boasts plenty to do for families with young travellers.
Highlights in this popular city haunt include the Petrosains Discovery Centre, Aquaria KLCC and the KLCC park, which has plenty of level footpaths and areas to enjoy the surrounding greenery. The Esplanade area boasts its own spectacular fountain, a favourite spot for kids to dash around in excitement in their swimming trunks.
Inside the mall, book-loving kiddos will love a visit to the only Kinokuniya bookstore in Malaysia, offering a massive range of over 300,000 titles in multiple languages, with an extensive collection of children’s and young adult literature and graphic novels across two floors.
TRX City Park, The Exchange TRX
TRX City Park is a 10-acre rooftop park that comes with its own purpose-built Play Cave with mini waterfalls and fountains, as well as an immersive Play City playground area with three distinct sections, taking inspiration from the design and feel of a traditional kampong house. There’s also an interactive Water Area that the kids are sure to love.

Dadi Cinema, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

China’s largest cinema chain opened its doors at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in 2021, home to the first Star Max, Star+, and Lil Star specialty cinema halls in the country.
Dadi Cinema has what is arguably the most kid-friendly cinema hall in the country, the Lil Star Hall, which boasts quirky, customised seats (for both kids and adults) and a mini playground. There’s also the Lil Star Playland lounge for the little ones to enjoy themselves before the show.

FRIM Forest Sky Walk, Kepong Botanic Gardens

Located at Kepong Botanic Gardens, The Forest Skywalk is FRIM’s (Forest Research Institute Malaysia) second canopy walkway, its highest point located 141 metres above sea level. Made up of 11 towers and eight bridges, the Forest Skywalk offers incredible views of the man-made forest on the north and east sides, alongside views of the city landscape and towering skyscrapers.
In months from June to September, the fruiting season will showcase fruiting durian trees in the orchard next to the structure, along with many unique species of birds, insects and even black giant squirrels. Take note that the Forest Skywalk is closed on Fridays, and open from 8.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday through Thursday.
Kebun Kebun Bangsar
A pet-friendly community vegetable farm located in the upscale neighbourhood of Bangsar, Kebun Kebun spans 2.5acres. A beloved place for families in search of a simple green city escape (but without being too far from the city), Kebun Kebun offers beautiful flowers, vegetables and live animals, and a cosy green space for picnics.
This volunteer-run community farm produces crops that are given to soup kitchens in Kuala Lumpur. Entry is free, but be sure to leave a donation via e-wallet to help with the running of the farm.
