One of the best things about travelling is entering duty-free zones, where you get to buy more for less
On top of the many exciting retail and F&B experiences that both travellers and locals can enjoy at international airports operated by Malaysia Airports, one thing that’s exclusively available for travellers is duty-free shopping!
Nestled within the bustling confines of the international departure and arrival areas, these retail havens beckon travellers with promises of incredible prices and exclusive finds. Savvy shoppers can enjoy purchasing their favourite items at prices that defy traditional retail outlets’ norms. It’s a shopper’s paradise where luxury becomes attainable, and savings are a given.

For certain foreign travellers, duty-free options would be an additional bonus if their currency is already stronger, and thus, they would get a lot more value. And Malaysia Airports offers the flexibility to pay in multiple currencies, so travellers can easily navigate the shopping haven, taking advantage of favourable exchange rates and making smart purchases.
If you’re at KLIA Terminal 1, you will be spoilt for choices browsing through the newly refurbished Eraman Chocolate and Liquor Duty Free stores at the Satellite Building near gates C1 & C2. And if you have just landed and need to get some last-minute items before exiting the airport, there's also PBH, as well as speciality outlets like Candy Party and Beaute Love to purchase alcohol, confectionery, or cosmetics, which are located right after immigration clearance.
Meanwhile, if you're flying from KLIA Terminal 2, be sure to head over to Heinemann, which has created a new shop concept, opening up the floor plan for improved visibility across the store, which includes brands like Kerastase, Vichy, La Roche Posay, Helena Rubinstein, Maison Margiela, La Prairie, Aqua di Parma, Fresh, and Le Labo.

But duty-free shops aren’t just about savings—they showcase diverse and unique products globally. For Malaysians, that means access to brands and products not commonly found locally in shopping aisles and shelves. Think of the varied chocolate options or even beauty brands that are difficult to come by in local stores outside the airports. Furthermore, foreign travellers can explore items that resonate with the local culture, offering them an opportunity to bring home souvenirs and gifts that tell a story.
Then there are also certain products that are only sold as travel retail exclusives, which means they can only be found in duty-free zones. For example, the Royal Salute Lost Blend edition whisky is only available at duty-free outlets like Eraman and PBH. Further, one can also find travel-friendly sizes of perfumes and beauty products as well as miniature alcohol bottles, which can either be added to a collection, gifted, or used for your next travels.
Clearly, duty-free shopping at Malaysia Airports is alluring, as Malaysia Airports plans to expand the already myriad offerings—on top of existing international labels like Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Tumi, Michael Kors, and Bulgari. As part of its expansion plans, KLIA Terminal 1 will be revamped with a walk-through duty-free emporium right after the immigration checkpoint for departing passengers, to enhance the ambience and overall travel experience. Plus, the centre court forest in the Satellite Building is also slated for a rejuvenation—to become a new nexus of premium duty-free shopping, even housing top-tier fashion brands.
Duty-free shopping isn’t just a transaction, it is an integral part of the travel experience. Wander through the aisles, immerse yourself in the world of premium products, and let the anticipation of your journey mingle with the joy of discovery at Malaysia Airports. And make sure to keep an eye out for limited-time offers that add an extra layer of excitement to your shopping spree!
