The 2024 series promises to elevate the experience further, with four qualifying rounds hosted at some of Malaysia’s most prestigious golf clubs: The Mines Resort & Golf Club, Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, and Penang Golf Club. As Teoh Hooi Lee, a participant from 2023, remarked, “My most memorable experience is meeting up with new friends and the networking opportunities.” Teoh further adds: “Every five to six holes, there are light refreshments provided, which make the game more enjoyable.”

Viswanath Suresh, another participant from 2023, emphasised the combination of luxury and camaraderie, saying, “The event is very well-organised, with good prizes, food, and refreshments. It’s great being a CIMB Preferred client; the event is exceptional, and I feel pampered from the moment I arrive.”

He further adds that despite the challenging game, the chance to get exercise, sunshine and good fun with friends are reasons why he loves the game. 

The tournament format remains the engaging and popular Texas Scramble System 36. In this format, each team of four players competes by selecting the best shot from each position, allowing for a balanced competition where players of all skill levels can shine. This format is particularly well-suited for fostering new connections, as participants are often paired with other clients they may not have met before, making it an excellent opportunity for networking.

The Texas Scramble also brings out the spirit of camaraderie. While the competitive element keeps the game exciting, the format encourages collaboration and teamwork, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for both seasoned golfers and newcomers. “The game flow during the event was competitive among the professional participants but a great opportunity for all players to network,” shared Mohd Yusoff bin Sulaiman, one of last year’s participants.
