Tatler joins the 2024 Lamborghini Experienza Neve in Inner Mongolia to experience what it’s like to drive such powerful machinery on ice—and live to tell the tale
Lamborghini has long been synonymous with passion and performance, and its commitment to creating unique, adrenaline-fuelled experiences for its clients is no less exceptional than the cars.
This December, Lamborghini hosted Tatler at the 2024 Experienza Neve in Yakeshi, China, offering their Asia-Pacific clientele an unforgettable opportunity to unleash the power of Lamborghini supercars in one of the most extreme driving environments imaginable: a frozen lake.
Francesco Scardaoni, Lamborghini’s regional director for Asia Pacific, encapsulated the event’s essence, stating, “We are thrilled to offer our clients from Asia Pacific the opportunity to discover the driving performance and emotions of Lamborghini super sports cars and super SUVs on snow. As always, Experienza Neve provides the perfect dynamic ice-driving environment, allowing our guests to experience the high performance and the dynamics of our cars in extreme conditions.”

Above Lamborghini transported an impressive lineup of their finest models to Inner Mongolia
To bring this vision to life, Lamborghini transported an impressive lineup of their finest models to Inner Mongolia. Guests were greeted by the newest Revuelto, alongside a thrilling collection of Huracán Sterrato, Huracán Tecnica, and Urus Performante super SUVs. These vehicles were primed to showcase their capabilities on Yakeshi’s frozen terrain, with temperatures plummeting to minus 20 degrees Celsius.
“Neve,” Italian for granular snow, aptly describes the unique surface conditions of the frozen lake that served as a multitude of different driving tracks. The icy environment, deceptively serene but unforgiving, offered Lamborghini’s clients the ultimate test of skill and car control. Every blip of the throttle risked sending the car into a spin, demanding participants’ full focus and finesse to master the art of driving on low-grip surfaces.
Each Lamborghini performed remarkably well on the treacherous ice, yet each demanded a unique driving approach. Here’s how all the models fared:

Lamborghini Urus S and Performante (666 PS, All-Wheel Drive)
The Urus super SUVs demonstrated astonishing composure for vehicles of their size and weight. Their advanced all-wheel-drive systems made them surprisingly agile, and when handled adeptly, they drifted gracefully across the ice. The Urus Performante is the more aggressive and entertaining of the two.
Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato (610 PS, All-Wheel Drive)
This rally-inspired variant of the Huracán felt tailor-made for the frozen circuits. Its all-wheel-drive system, optimised for low-grip conditions, delivered unmatched fun and capability. The Sterrato was a clear favourite among participants, offering an exhilarating balance of power and control.

Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica (640 PS, Rear-Wheel Drive)
A track-focused beast with a lineage tied to the extreme Huracán STO, the Tecnica posed a steep learning curve. Its rear-wheel-drive setup made it notoriously tail-happy on ice, requiring precision and a steady hand to tame. However, the satisfaction of finally mastering the Tecnica in such extremes is unparalleled.
Lamborghini Revuelto (1015 PS, All-Wheel Drive Hybrid)
Boasting over 1,000 horsepower, the Revuelto is Lamborghini’s cutting-edge hybrid marvel. Its unconventional all-wheel-drive system, where the front wheels are powered solely by electric motors and the rear by a hybrid V12, provided a unique driving experience. While surprisingly stable on ice, it revealed its rear-wheel-drive tendencies when pushed to the limit, hinting at the exciting handling of hybrid supercars.

By bringing the Experienza Neve to Inner Mongolia, Lamborghini eliminated the need for Asia-Pacific clients to travel to far-flung destinations like Sweden or Finland for similar experiences. This localised approach not only demonstrated Lamborghini’s commitment to its regional clientele but also showcased the adaptability of their supercars to diverse and challenging environments.
The meticulously curated three-day programme offered more than adrenaline-pumping laps on the ice track. Guests were treated to luxurious hospitality, gourmet dining, and cultural experiences that highlighted the hospitality of Hulunbuir city. From thrilling trackside action to serene moments of indulgence, the event reflected Lamborghini’s ability to seamlessly blend performance with luxury.
For those who missed the Experienza Neve, there’s good news: Lamborghini plans to make this an annual event. The brand’s dealerships in the region are already gearing up to provide more details about future editions. Whether you’re a seasoned Lamborghini owner or a potential client eager to join the family, this is an opportunity to experience the brand’s unrivalled performance and lifestyle offerings in a truly extraordinary setting.
