Ahead of its official debut in Malaysia in June, the BMW Group unveiled the first-ever BMW XM in an upbeat unveiling party attended by esteemed guests and Tatler friends

In a fittingly dazzling ceremony at Sentul Depot on March 22, a select group of guests enjoyed a first look at the highly anticipated BMW XM, the first-ever BMW M GmbH high-performance sports activity vehicle (SAV) with electrified drive in Malaysia. Set to hit the local market in June 2023, the BMW XM bears the unmistakably bold design language of the BMW X series while distinguishing itself as the first BMW X model with a plug-in hybrid drive.

The unveiling event gave guests a chance to test out this seamless BMW M HYBRID technology first-hand, with its unmatched and dynamic driving experience made possible by the powerful combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor.

Invited by Tatler Malaysia, stylish guests like Kim Raymond, Dato' Sri Jeffrey Raymond, Amelia Henderson, Nazreem Musa, Alex and Kelvin Cheah, and Thanuja Ananthan didn’t miss the chance to experience the plush and lounge-like interiors of the BMW XM, with its Walknappa leather seats with a full-width rear seat bench curving and enclosing passengers for optimal, first-class seating comfort.

Kicking off the unveiling, BMW Group Malaysia managing director and CEO Hans de Visser said: “We are beyond thrilled to introduce the first-ever BMW XM to Malaysia. This exclusive sports activity vehicle is the first ever BMW M GmbH high-performing car to feature an M HYBRID drive system, thus extending the realm of e-mobility within the high-performance car segment in Malaysia.”

He added: “It is an electrifying reinvention of automatic ideals and the extreme performance characteristics that will make every drive a luxurious experience for our Malaysian customers and supporters.”
