1. Deja Vu
Do you get deja vu? In this 2021 pop hit, Rodrigo pondered on how it feels like to break up with a special someone and hop onto another relationship quickly. In the song she asks an ex "do you get deja vu?" implying that everything the latter does with his new lover is merely just a pattern of what they did in together in the past.
“[We] didn’t want to do the safe thing and put out another heartbreak ballad,” Rodrigo says in an interview with Rolling Stone. “We really wanted to show that I’m a versatile songwriter and a versatile artist. I can make heartbreak songs but I can also make cool alternative pop songs. I didn’t want to be pigeonholed into the ‘heartbreak ballad girl’ thing.”

2. Good 4 U
Still harbouring a pain from her recent breakup, Rodrigo tells how bad it feels to be the last one to move on from a breakup. In this song she sings:
Well, good for you, you look happy and healthy
Not me, if you ever cared to ask
Good for you, you're doing great out there without me, baby
God, I wish that I could do that
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night crying on the floor of my bathroom

3. Happier
We can always take lyrical compositions any way we please, but in Happier, Rodrigo clearly wants her former lover to not feel the same joy he felt when he was with her. This is relatable because who did not become selfish at one point?
