Over the past three decades, the annual Tatler Ball has become more than a gala dinner attended by the who’s who of Asia. It has become a platform for honouring the leaders who use their prominence for good
It was nearly 40 years ago when the first Tatler Ball was held. From a singular celebration that once took place every five years, it has evolved into an annual tradition that brings together Asia’s most influential visionaries, business leaders, cultural movers and changemakers.
Each of Tatler’s key markets—Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam—hosts its own annual Tatler Ball, celebrating the individuals who are shaping the future of their specific region or country.
In 2023, the Tatler Ball evolved from a local gathering to a regional affair, reflecting the changing landscape of Asian influence itself.
The Tatler Ball Asia represents the pinnacle of Tatler’s network, a regional celebration that hosts the most prominent attendees from across the region and the rest of the world. It serves as a continental convergence, where cross-border connections are forged and Asia’s collective influence on the world is recognised.
A purpose-driven evening
It’s at the Tatler Ball where the Tatler Impact Awards take centre stage. Launched at the inaugural Tatler Ball Asia two years ago, the Awards recognise individuals from Tatler’s Asia’s Most Influential community and beyond who are making meaningful contributions to society—whether it’s pioneering research for wildlife conservation, leading the charge in genetic testing for cancer or building a lasting legacy in entertainment.
Past awardees include renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, Hong Kong acting legend Louis Koo, award-winning nanoscientist Jackie Ying and Olympic gold medallist Carlos Yulo.
While the local Tatler Impact Awards celebrate individuals with regional excellence, the Tatler Impact Awards Asia goes a step further to recognise those whose influence and impact transcend Asia’s borders.
From Macau to Singapore
Building on the success of the first regional celebration at The Londoner Macao in November 2023, the second edition of the Tatler Ball Asia heads to Singapore this year.
Taking place on October 3, 2025, against the high-octane backdrop of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix weekend, the invitation-only gala will welcome over 300 guests to the Resorts World Sentosa.
Special guests include entrepreneurs and philanthropists Ray and Mark Dalio, Nobel Peace Prize nominee Amanda Nguyen and record-breaking mountaineer Lhakpa Sherpa—all joined by business titans, cultural pioneers and notable leaders for an exclusive evening that promises to be both memorable and meaningful.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the Tatler Ball Asia to Singapore for the very first time, and to be the catalyst for bringing together some of the world’s most innovative and inspiring individuals whose work is reshaping global perspectives, driving meaningful change and setting new standards across fields such as finance, science, exploration and social justice. This landmark event celebrates not only achievement, but the collaborative spirit that fuels progress throughout Asia and beyond,” says Tamara Lamunière, president of Tatler Asia.
A tribute to Asian excellence
The theme of this year’s Tatler Ball Asia is “An Odyssey to Harmony”, an ode to Asian excellence and the creative forces shaping our shared future. “Rooted in Eastern values of collectiveness, grace and interconnection, this is an ode to mutual growth, the beauty of cultural exchange and the unity that blossoms when we come together with intention,” explains Hugo Belloy, creative director for the regional gala and the founder of Dreams and Dreams Ltd.
As a prelude to this gala, Tatler will host an immersive dining experience at the newly renovated Singapore Oceanarium on October 2. Titled “An Ode to Self Mastery”, the invite-only dinner will feature inspiring conversations with two record-breaking speakers: Lhakpa Sherpa, the only woman in the world to summit Mount Everest ten times, and Wim Hof, the “Ice Man” known for his specialised (and some say extreme) cold therapy and breathing techniques.
As Tatler Ball season approaches, its key message remains unchanged: that influence carries responsibility. And the Tatler Ball will keep championing those who use their platforms not merely for personal advancement but for the betterment of Asia and the world.
