Here’s how our dearest friends ended 2023 with a bang!

How do you like to spend your New Year’s Eve? Do you travel the world and see how other cultures celebrate it? Maybe you prefer to stay home where you can have intimacy with your loved ones. Or do you like to make some noise with fireworks and loud horns? In any case, these are all pleasing ways to welcome the new year.

In this article, we show you how our friends celebrated and welcomed the coming of a new year. Who knows? They might inspire you to do the same when 2025 comes.

More from Tatler: Tatlergrams: How our friends spent their Christmas this 2023

1. Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero

Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero spent her New Year's Eve with a fanciful dinner at the Red Lantern at Solaire. With a room filled with family and friends and a beautiful view of the Manila Bay horizon, the send-off to 2023 looked optimistic for what’s to come.

2. Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff

After spending Christmas quietly at home with a romantic dinner, Anne Curtis, Erwan Heussaff, and their daughter, Dahlia Amelie, travelled to Western Australia to greet the new year. The three watched the last sunset of the year by the beach and enjoyed an intimate moment to celebrate all that’s happened in 2023.

3. Tim Yap

Ever the bubbly personality, Tim Yap welcomed the new year along with hundreds of people during the countdown at Bonifacio Global City, where the city of Taguig had some of the biggest names like Ely Buendia, Zack Tabudlo, Red Velvet, and more perform.

4. Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico

From Buenos Aires to Hong Kong Disneyland, Solenn Heusaff, Nico Bolzico, and their two daughters travelled thousands of miles for a magical farewell to the year. In an enchanting Instagram reel, Bolzico reminded us of the sheer wonder one would feel in the presence of Disneyland’s theatrical fireworks show.

5. Dolly De Leon

For Dolly De Leon, a New Year’s Eve well-spent with sunsets, family, and a clear ocean view as she relaxes on the beaches of Nasugbu. Crackling booms of colourful fireworks aptly disrupted the calming aura of the beach, heralding a promising year ahead.

6. Nadine Lustre

Nadine Lustre showed us that New Year’s Eve doesn’t always have to be with a packed crowd. Sometimes, three is enough. Choosing to spend the holiday inside her apartment with Christophe Bariou and Andrei Suleik, the trio enjoyed dinner, wine, and dancing on the backdrop of Rockwell’s breathtaking fireworks display.

7. BJ Pascual

BJ Pascual sends his regards from Taipei as he dons an all-pink outfit and takes to the streets.

8. Karen Davila

“Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life. The gift of health. The gift of family. Another year to live out the time you have blessed us with - for your own good purpose,” says Karen Davila in an Instagram post. Davila welcomed 2024 with wanderlust—exploring the sea and caves of Negros Occidental while also lounging at the luxurious Manami Resort with her family.

9. Eduardo Sisters

Sometimes all you need for an exciting New Year’s Eve is a complete family—precisely what the Eduardo sisters had. Intimacy and warmth were the themes of the night as they had a lovely time in their backyard.
