The spotlight shines once more on our country's female rock legends as they make their way back on stage with one night of unified performances

Nostalgia surely hits hard every time you listen to OPM songs from bands like Moonstar 88's "Torete", Imago's "Sundo", Session Road's "Suntok sa Buwan", Mojofly's "Mata" and tunes from icons like Kitchie Nadal's with "Huwag na Huwag mong Sasabihin" and Barbie Almalbis' "Torpe". You instantly recall those afternoons you change the television channel to Myx or MTV and watch the music videos or recorded performances of your childhood era's Filipino music scene. As time passed by, you're left with only the memories of your emotional attachment to the tracks and the curiosity about the lives of your favourite stars. Probably, you still have those songs on your current playlist, or you have seen news and clips that encapsulates and relives their timeless voices. But here’s a wonderful surprise for all of you, music fans. GNN Entertainment is proud to present a first-time concert of the six OPM alt-rock queens.

Justifying its title, 'TANAW' is set to satisfy your soul, satiate your love for music, and entice your enthusiasm with a presentation that takes you back in time but makes you also look forward to the promising future. The concert is arranged to showcase the well-deserved legacy the headliners achieved throughout their journey in the music industry, a career that is often tied to men and to celebrate the friendship that was formed and the bond that was strengthened through their common passion.

At its press conference, the six acclaimed singer-songwriters displayed their solidarity as one group despite shining separately in their early days. It is undeniable that they have established their power and significance in the world of music with-sold out concerts and tours, singles and albums that have topped the charts, and a wide fanbase they are all thankful for—as they made a stunning entrance by rocking their hearts out through a medley of some of their songs, making the audience sing along.

When asked several questions about their extensive history of composing songs, live audience performances, insights on the old and new music, how their careers shaped their lives, and what to expect from 'TANAW', the women couldn’t contain their gratitude and emotions. “It’s going to be a surprise, but let’s just say that we’re forming a group for a one-night-only performance that will surely delight music fans,” Almalbis teased.

The heartfelt happiness and excitement glisten in their eyes and their passion for the craft resonate as they revealed stories of their journey in response to what the concert meant for the six women. “There is no other group of people who will have understood the fullness of my life, in every aspect, except for these ladies. We grew up in an era together, we paid our dues together. We share a profound joy in making music, writing songs, and performing them in front of a live audience. We've never braved a celebration on this scale together before, and I feel very blessed to be a part of this," de Leon said in a statement.

Unfortunately, Nadal couldn’t grace the press conference with her presence as she’s currently based in Madrid, Spain. Almalbis, De Leon, Bisa, Romawac and Basabas even joked about how they have had enough of the former only being photoshopped on group photos. However, they all expressed their relief as the celebration and one-night concert together with her fellow artists and beloved friends is more than enough reason for Nadal to come home.

It was a pleasure to initially see the five OPM vocalists from various bands talk about their upcoming grand debut as a group, but it would be an honour to watch all six of them perform together at their collective performance, 'TANAW'. Co-presented by Solaire Resort & Casino, the concert will take place on November 26, Saturday, from 8 PM onwards at The Theatre at Solaire. Tickets are available online via Ticket World and its partner outlets nationwide.
