'Allegiance', the Broadway musical inspired by the WWII experiences of author, actor, and activist George Takei, will be streaming on Broadway on Demand for free starting tomorrow
Theatre fans will start their long weekend break with a front-row pass to the online streaming of Allegiance, a Broadway musical starring Filipina Broadway icon Lea Salonga, Japanese-American author and activist George Takei, and theatre actor and director Telly Leung.
Allegiance, which was drawn from the life of Takei, will be shown for free via Broadway on Demand starting at 12 PM and again at 3 PM and 6 PM Philippine time.

Beautiful and heartwarming, Allegiance explores a family's journey inside a Japanese internment camp during World War II. The story follows Sammy and Kei Kimura, children of a domineering, first-generation Japanese-American immigrant father (Issei).
As the story progresses, the family struggles with their opposing views of America when anti-Japanese opinions begin to spread across the country after the Pearl Harbour bombing. While Sammy wants to join the army to prove his loyalty to America, Kei rallies for the freedom of her people.

The show features music and lyrics by Jay Kuo and a book by Marc Acito, Kuo, and Lorenzo Thione. It was shown on Broadway from October 2015 to February 2016. Visit the official Broadway on Demand streaming site for more information.
